I purchased a 2006 SR5 4 door Friday with 54k miles. It had been sitting outside for the past 3 years and ran very little.

Going to replace fluids, tires, and brakes. Anything I need to look out for? No rust at all and the previous owner had Katskins leather installed.

    Mods to make for reliabilty?

Its the gold/sandstone color so any pics of guys that have that with wheels/tires and appearance mods would be appreciated.

Welcome. That sounds like a great find. It's getting harder to find low mileage 1st gens like that. You may want to consider doing the timing belt. It's required every 7 years or 90K miles. If you're on the original belt it's definitely time. I would swap all the fluids too. I would also crawl under there and just see how all the boots and gaskets look. Things start to crack with age even if the miles are low.

Welcome to the club and that's a great looking DC.

Where do you live, or more importantly, where is the truck from? First mod I would do would be the timing belt and spray the frame with PB Blaster and fluid film. Now those are cool mods....

I would clean the frame up and apply wool wax or something along those lines. I wouldn't get it undercoated. Some people also like rubbing the frame with grease.

Dude, you scored! Truck looks great. Not from a rust belt or Bible belt, I’d guess.

I thought about using Fluid Film myself. How well does it actually stay on the frame since it doesn’t dry? Doesn’t it rinse off easy when driving in rain? Apply it, what, twice a year or so?

You'll have to apply it once a year. It's not a one and done product. We get a ton of rain where I live and it stays on longer than you would expect.

This is the video that sold me though. Specifically the 2 minute mark.

    Welcome from the Garden State.

Congrats, that's a super mint 06 Double Cab!

Mods for reliability? In addition to the fine recco's others have already made, I'd say go for a round of LED bulbs all around. Are any of the dash bulbs, or heat/ac panel bulbs out?

Also, download yourself a free copy of the Factory Service Manual for 2005-2006 Tundra

The wheels are the Trail Edition from a 2016 4Runner. Lift is just Bilstein 5100's all around, second notch on the front to level is out.

The tonneau cover is the Lund Genesis Elite. I chose this one for the matte finish instead of a shiny look.
