Hows the stance of the truck do you have a slight rake? And does the front have spacers or just the coilovers.. just trying to see what my set up is going to looks since i bought coach builder shims also for an additional 1/2” lift in the front.

My problem is, the Falcons are a few hundred dollars more than the Bilstein kit, but the billys come with springs and you can get em assembled. That kinda puts them ahead of the Falcons for me, unfortunately.

I’ll have to measure. I do have a slight rake.....which I wanted. I would say probably about 1.5 inch difference. David with Coachbuilder recommended I go with the +2 bc he said the TSS system needed at least an inch difference to be happy. I have mine set on Level. You can set it 1/4 higher on the heavy accessory setting. I ordered the shim for front driver side but ended up not using it.

the falcon rear adjustable shocks are way nicer than an icon stage 1.

i agree but the comment was his springs in front were sagging. getting full coilover setup solves that problem.

the rear shocks may be better but icon front coils are way better then just falcon shocks imo.

The rear shocks look really nice for the money.
Not everyone needs a remote reservoir shock. I wish more shock mfgs offered rear shocks with just adjusters.
There is a large gap between 2.0 rear shocks ($320/set) to 2.5 rear shocks ($660/set) to 2.5 rear shocks with adjusters ($1000+/set)

true, but stage 1 icon is also a little more money. He could probably find stock springs with much lower miles for 50- 100$ used

stage 1 is 1600 and no co cost of swapping springs. install ends up being cheaper too.

falcons are good just saying if he wants new springs saves money and adjustable.

yes and no. Again, if the rear falcons are way better it isn’t a comparison.

If you were comparing similar icon rears, they would be far more expensive

The Ford guys seem to like them too. I'm still a few months away from pulling the trigger. Maybe they'll come out with a coil over setup. Maybe lol. @mac10tuna any insight on that?

A sales rep from Teraflex says there are currently no plans for a coil-over or pre-assembled setup.

Hit up your local shops for some takeoffs.

I ended up doing that and the shop guy turned me on to another guy that had a set of brand new takeoffs in his garage. He ended up just giving them to me just to get them out of his garage.

You just never know until you ask.

Just ordered a set of the Falcons. I was on the fence with the 6112/5160 combo and made the decision based on what’s been said in this thread and the amount of towing I do. Hope I’m impressed with the new suspension. I have a bunch of other stuff coming this week, might have to do a small build thread when everything gets here.

Any updates on how you guys are liking them?

Just completed over 2,000 of towing my SxS to Colorado for some mountain riding. The shocks performed great! Firm and confident. I’m very pleased with the purchase and would do it again in a heartbeat!33C5F1C5-F2FF-44C9-A687-F0559A6009FB.jpg

I think you're really going to like the change, especially for towing.

I have just over a year and about 14k miles (3.5k towing) on my rear shocks now and you can really feel the difference when you give those clickers a click when towing. My tongue weight is about 500lbs and I set the shocks on the #2 setting when I hook up the boat. Waaaay less bounce and hitting the bump stops.

My fronts only have about 6k on them as I didn't get those installed until January this year due to just being too darn busy. Again, very noticeable difference over the 100k mile yellow Bilsteins.

Huge difference out on the dirt too. Way more controled and planted. Definitely able to travel at quite a bit more speed over wash board/rutted and still feel safe and in control. They suck up the bigger hits pretty well too.

Don't expect to travel dirt at super sonic speeds and feel like you're riding on a pillow like the Uber Fart gang on here though. But, for the price, I think you'll be pretty happy.

Bottom line: I'd buy then again with no hesitation. Great product and probably pretty hard to beat at that price point.

Full disclosure, it's been a long time since I've read everything in this thread, so this may have been posted before. If not, it isn't a bad video, aside from the "music" used.

These shocks wouldn't work on a Sequoia right? Rear suspension is different I believe.

When you say you went on washboard roads and the truck just floated, what setting were your rear shocks on? Soft?

Yes, the softest setting. I leave them on that setting unless I'm towing, then I switch them to the number 2 setting.

A little over a year with them back there and so far, so good. I really like them.

I know this is an old post but figured it was worth a shot...

I don't even have my Tundra yet- patiently waiting, but Falcon is the set up I will be going with when the time comes. I want to keep it stock for the most part and plan on doing some moderate towing so it seems like a perfect fit.

Do you happen to have and measurements from the hub to fender for both front and rear with the leveled setting up front and the +1 CB shackles?

I'm debating whether to go with the notch above stock or the leveled setting and want to maintain ≥1" of rake for loads and towing. Should also mention there is plans for a canopy/topper as well. Any input is greatly appreciated! I've done plenty of searching but haven't seen anything definitive with this set up

Well, I can't really help you with the measurements as I don't have any aftermarket shackles in the back.

I can tell you that I initially had my front perches set on the 3rd slot from the bottom (what Falcon said was "level") and I ended up a bit nose high. To be honest, I gave this a lot of thought and still can't figure out why I ended up at almost 3" of lift in the front. It could be that I usually have roughly 250 lbs out back with the cap and other crap in the bed. I really don't know.

The springs I used are stock Tundra with only a couple thousand miles (Falcon says to use stock springs only) and I did measure before/after and this setting gave me all most 3" of lift in the front. With stock UCA's it took 2 alignments to get even close to acceptable and it still wasn't right (I'll attribute that to the shops lack of skills). When I hooked my boat up I felt I was pretty much one of those South Carolina, ass dragger trucks. NO BUENO!!!!

Now that I've dropped one slot on the perch setting and got realigned things are much, much, better.

Doing a +1 shackle out back, you may be fine with going with the 3rd slot, although you still might end up having alignment issues depending on your shop. Also, Falcon says 1" lift out back is ok but not to exceed that 1".

Here's how it sits now dragging the boat behind it, which is about 5k lbs all in. No bags or anything to help the ass end stay level. I'm good with this and it tows great. Well, other than the 11.5 mpg part, but that's another thread.

    IMG_20201029_110036243.jpg

Edit: Here it is after the initial install set on the 3rd slot with almost 3" of lift.

This is great feedback, thanks! Pictures help as well.

Based on this, I think I will start on the second from the bottom notch, see how she sits and order shackles as required. I know the +1 CB is rated for .625" of gained height, but each truck is different so there's that too. I'm looking to steer clear from that nose high look.

End goal is just enough room to sneak some 295/70r18 on the OEM wheels and avoid replacing UCAs while keeping everything aligned and happy. Oh, and hit 11mpg...downhill with a tail wind. Reliability definitely outweighed fuel economy when I was truck shopping!

I've had mine on for 400 miles and one bad ass Texas ice storm. They just keep getting better and better. They are a little bouncy at first but once the break in, you have a high level of confidence in your truck and they just destroy everything. Speed bumbs, potholes, etc. I'm taking the truck on an overlanding adventure in March and will advise. But, I say DO IT.

Thank you for replying. I originally was going to go with 6112s and 5160s, but then I learned that they are unobtainable. Then I was considering eibach pro Truck Lift but then figured I probably should do the buy once cry once thing and here I am.

The Falcons are far superior to the 6112s anyway. Even arguably better than Fox 2.0 and 2.5s. Falcon components are top notch.
    https://youtu.be/AtCqYjx2JxM

Mine got delivered last week the day after the ice storm began. We are still iced in pretty good haven’t even tried to get the Tundra out. I have a company Tahoe I’ll risk in this crap weather over my personal truck. Supposed to start thawing out here next week.
If we don’t flood too bad once everything melts I may get them on next week but I doubt I’ll be that lucky.
