Because that would be too easy.

Seriously though, I have never used. Bed rug product, so like regular carpet, can you cut and trim it with the proper cutting tool to cut templates for the four corner storage areas and the bed rail system if you have that on your decked system?

Will a 35”x12.5” spare tire mount on top and allow a tonneau cover to close over it?

That would be cutting it close depending on what truck and what tonneau cover you have. All of our systems are 12" tall so you can measure the difference between that and your tonneau cover to double check. Let us know if you are able to fit that in there and what truck you are running so we can share with future customers.

All of our drawer systems are 12" tall so you can measure your truck to make sure. The remaining space above the DECKED system for a newer Tundra is 10.25"

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Kind of a one off but I really wish they had a 4 ft version for the 5.5 ft bed so I could keep my toolbox. Even if they just made short generic versions that fit in between everyone's wheel wells like their service body boxes but shorter I think they might sell. I really love it but not giving up the toolbox.

How tall are you and what length bed do you have? That’s really all the info you need. After that, it’s up to you on what mattress or foam or sleep setup you want.

I do, I have a crewmax and I'm 6ft tall—but I am solo, so I just throw down a thermarest pad diagonally and it works great.

Im short and its a double cab. I know the measurements will work. Just didnt know if it feels cramped after a couple of days. Usually either the wife or the dog with me. Found a handful of videos and think it work perfect. Thanks

Thanks. Looking for a decent memory foam mattress that will fit.

You can order custom memory foam sizes from several online sites. Some guys get it done in two pieces for easier storage also.

Great to hear you are interested in our system! Wanted to save you a prolonged waiting period and let you know that we never go on sale or offer any deals or discounts. Our goal is to always offer an every-day low price and discounting products compromises that.
Let us know if you have any questions!

It's the perfect sleeping platform! By getting you up and over the wheel wells you will now have a wall-to-wall platform for extra sleeping space, and you will not have to take all of your gear out of the truck when you pull up to your spot. The system is 12" tall so you will loose a bit of headspace if you have a shell, but still a great option for a truck bed sleeping platform.

Here are some more shots of some of our customers who use their system as a sleeping platform.

Thought about this, but there's still an issue with access to the corner storage; there'd need to be some kind of fabric hinge with a handle that would allow the corners to fold up for access.

A guy could just cut them out as loose pieces, but that is a little too half-assed for my taste.

Well it would address the material coverage where the wheel well cutouts are the corners are a tough part no matter what even if the two partnered. I would probably cut a flap (slit on left, right, notch handle side) and glue the lid to the flap. Lift the cover from the notch and fold back the flap for access to the ammo cans. Given the material I think the flap edges wouldn't stand out horribly and end up with a fairly clean look all things considered. If the flap were a bit larger than the lid it would even provide additional dust protection for the contents.

Maybe velcro instead of glue since not as permanent and gives flexibility to get the alignment right. Myself I probably wouldn't even attach the lid to the flap, having a notch in the rug to get to the lid notch, I would just lift the lid and pull back the flap with the lid and have the lid loose. Because I can't even get wallpaper to line up and would never get the alignment to my satisfaction to actually attach them togeter.

Well I went ahead and just got the Bedrug universal mat. Could have cut the corners fancier, but screw it. At least my knees are happy now.56EE04E2-8411-4E7B-9E8A-84C014D3E45A.jpg

Is it possible for water to get trapped under it or does it breathe enough to dry when it gets wet?

Not worried about that since the bed is sprayed with Line-X, and it's easy enough to pull it out to clean occasionally. Doesn't absorb water and won't get wet in most cases with a cap on the truck. I went ahead and used the excess material on the tailgate.

Thank you for the photo. I am going to do the same thing for sure and not worry about burns like being on Mercury in the summer.

If I wanted to diy modify one to fit a gen 1, which model would be closest and easiest to trim? I hear the super duty or maybe an F150 model? Or perhaps a gen 1 model is in the in works? @DECKEDUSA.COM

Hey Kessel, unofficial instructions for the gen 1 tundra attached. WE did not make these and we don't know if it works or not. We have only been sent this by someone who successfully was able to pull this off. And that is all we know. And it's not a warranty-able install

    • Start by ordering a DS-1 which is an old Super Duty system (2003 6'9" bed length)
    • You will need to carefully cut both the tailgate and cabside ends of the deck panels, the sides of the deck panels as well as the sides of the ammo cans with a reciprocating saw or a jigsaw.
    • Assemble both halves of the system but do not connect them down the middle
    • Devise something that can trace the curvature of the side of tailgate end of your truck
      • A piece of heavy electrical wire like Romex, or a set of 8 or so small cardboard triangles to match the curve of the tailgate end. (Once you lay them out to get the general shape, tape them together and you will get the curve mostly right)

Use the half which is connected to the center vert for the next couple of steps

    • Place the curves of the tailgate and cabside (they are the same so you only need to do the pattern once) on the top of the deck panel where you are going to cut
    • Next CAREFULLY (Measure 5x cut once) shave down the deck panel and the side of the ammo can to the shape you have determined best matches your truck
    • Test fit the tailgate end first, if you are happy with your curveflip your pattern over and shave down the cabside end
    • NOTE: you will cut the ammo can within an inch of its life and you want to try to not remove so much material that the brass inserts in the tailgate ammo can are totally exposed (not the end of the world but you will compromise those in three places)
    • Next put the half that you have shaved down into your truck and figure out how much of the side of the panel you need to remove to make it fit completely. Scribe that line… measure five times cut once as always
    • Then test fit. You want it to be less than half away across the bed (maybe ¼ - 3/8”) shy when that half is installed. This is so you can fit the other half in there.
    • When you are completely happy with your fit remove that half and place it on the ground
    • Take the second half which is not connected to the center vert and flip it upside down onto the side you cut up
    • Line them up perfectly and clamp the two halves in place symmetrically and trace the cut panel pattern onto the uncut panel
    • Cut the other half to fit

The final chore will be making the tie downs work. We don't have that info but generally they are all the same and the Ford tie downs do the trick. If not just go to the hardware store and purchase a length of all thread that fits that threaded nut for the corner tie downs and just make your own hooks.

This will all make more sense when you get it and can see the parts. You may also need to shim up the corner ammo cans so that they lay flat. This is important and can be done with some thin plywood or composite material.

@DECKEDUSA, have you guys considered making a drop in cutting board or work surface inside the drawers? Would very useful when pulled out as a food prep surface or place to sit the camp stove.

Several guys have purchased their own and cut to fit. Best one I saw was a three piece that came apart and stowed flat in bottom of the drawer.

I did this to my first Gen double cab except I used a decked DS2 system. Worked like a champ. I’ll link in my build in the following post.
