Looking into installing the Elka suspension 2.5 front and rear suspension lift on a 2019. Everything seems pretty straightforward but lifting the rear seems to have several options. I realize the Elka rear shocks only give me 1" of extra clearance but it seems people have had no issues with adding 1.5" lift to the rear. So you have the Deaver Overload leaf with 1.5" lift, the ICON expansion pack with 1.5" lift, the ProComp add-a-leaf and Toytec cheap single leaf each also adding the 1.5" lift. Then of course the ever popular Coachbuilder shackles which have various heights to choose from. What are the advantages of one over the other? It seems the leaf packs and add-a-leaf's would add more strength to the suspension but as said before there must be some reason the Coachbuilder are so popular even though you seem to just keep the spongy OEM springs. Thanks as usual for the input.

I did the Icon mini pack and the Coachbuilder shackles. I got about 2" of lift. Here is my install thread and review:
    https://www.tundras.com/threads/installed-coachbuilder-shackles.66757/

The add-a-leafs and leaf packs change the way the truck rides and how the rear suspension flexes, but they don't add more strength. The Tundra is still a half ton truck. You cannot go wrong with any of the leaf options that you listed, but I highly recommend the Coachbuilder shackles.

    Alot of them
I would do shackles as well along with the poly bushings. Shocks do not provide lift. They are longer to accommodate lift. The shackles will ride better. The leaf additions will make the ride harder.

    I'm doing a 3/3 lift.

When I had my Tacoma with 2" blocks in the rear... I could feel the axle-wrap if the tires spun or during hard acceleration.

Instead of 3" blocks under my Tundra, I'm going to use a 1" blocks with 2" shackles.
Obviously longer shocks/shock extensions are needed also.

Thats just great to hear. I ordered shackles from them on 7/27.

If this is how they roll... it will be my last order with them.

I reached out on 7/20, a week after placing my order, prompt reply telling me that they are around a week out on my order. So much for under promising and over delivering. I wish there was a disclaimer or something on their website about realistic expectations of when the order will be fulfilled. I have a set of 6112s ready to be installed, but I’m putting those off until I get the shackles. If I don’t hear anything back by EOD Monday, I’m reaching out to cancel my order as that’ll be around 3 week mark.

I just ordered a 2nd set of shackles off Amazon so it wouldn't hold up the lift installation. They will be on my doorstep Sunday.

I sometimes wonder why I bother trying to support the "little guy"... as it always bites me in the ass. Amazon to the rescue again. :bananadead:

The Method wheels I ordered from Summit last night at 900pm... will be here tomorrow already... from Ohio.

I have those pro form and they are a really nice shackle For the money.
Unfortunately it seems a lot of businesses are a week or 2 behind on shipping. I have run into this several times with boat parts and truck parts over the past month
Damn COVID-19 has messed up alot of stuff

Supply chains are somewhat iffy still and the small guys don't have the clout as the big boys. I agree that any potential delays should be explained upfront and if an agreed upon date passes then the customer needs to be notified asap . On the other hand many small guys are experiencing supply chain issues, shipping delays, etc due to a potentially deadly virus with no cure yet and no vaccines available but yet they manage to stay in business and keeping their employees safe at the same time. I'm willing to cut them some slack.

@737fixer I'm curious to hear your impressions of the Elkas. I am Canadian and really want to support them, and their prices are quite decent for a Canadian Made product. I was planning on doing the 2" basic coilover system to add 2" so I can avoid the diff drop and UCA

just an update for you since you are probably in the same boat: I emailed ProForm again on 8/3 and was told that the shackles should haven been back from bending a week prior and they are expecting them any day now. I emailed them again yesterday 8/11, still no reply and no shipment notification. I initiated a transaction dispute with PayPal since it’s now a month after placing an order. My patience is over, its 6 pieces of steel welded together, no rocket science. Screw this company.

Final update: instead of replying to my email and providing me an update on my order, he just flat out canceled it and sent me a refund without saying anything. What a piece of shit. I found their Facebook page and there were 2 other people complaining about delays and being over promised delivery times.

I placed an order with ToyTec instead. Sure, they are more expensive but at least I’ll get my shit on time.

Lastly, as I was looking for reviews of other shackles and I stumbled across this YouTube video https://youtu.be/w4D278lkVWE Skip to 3:20. First the ProForm shackles don’t fit because of incorrect bend, then the holes don’t line up with the 1.5” holes on ToyTec that netted 1.5” exactly.

Shitty product from a shitty vendor.

    Yeah... no excuse for that.
I hope they get their shit together.
I can still use the shackles if they ever show up. Until then the chinese Amazon junk is doing just fine.

Well I just filed a claim with Paypal.
    Order was placed on 7/27.
Today is 8/15 and still no sign of shackles and not a peep from the seller.

My patience has run out with these douchebags. There's absolutely no excuse for this. So glad I opted for a backup set of shackles from Amazon that took a whopping 2 fucking days to my doorstep.

good for you! Wonder if he’ll just cancel your order like he cancelled mine the second he gets something from PayPal

FYI there are a couple of people selling used ToyTech and CoachBuilder shackles on here.

Just wait until you try to install them and have to drill your own holes because nothing comes close to lining up, the "you get what you pay for" adage exists for a reason.

I learned this in the video I posted a couple of days ago. But the reason for ordering from this shitty company in the first place is because someone on this forum has these shackles and said they were great. ToyTecs will be here tomorrow

I ordered a set from ProForm in the beginning of august. At the end of august I still hadn’t gotten any updates so I reached out, got a pretty quick response saying 1st of Sep for shipping. Well, still no shackles. Reached out again today asking for status update and got a reply about an hour later saying they were shipping today. Not holding my breath but maybe???? Still no shipping confirmation lol.

USPS says out for delivery today. Kind of a long story, but whenever I would reach out I’d get a reply saying this week or next week or shipping out today. When they said “today” I asked for a tracking number. 2 days later I got the tracking info, but then it sat in preshipment for 6 days before they actually gave it to the post office for shipment. So if they do show up today it’ll be about 2 months since I placed the order. They were quick to reply when I reached out each time, but giving false timelines is where they fell short. Hard to say with all this covid stuff what they’re dealing with in terms of employees and supplies, but open comms should be a standard courtesy. In the end I don’t mind too much. It’s only a $50 part, nothing crazy.

Yeah, I'm not worried about the price, but I'd like to get this shit put on my truck someday... lol. I emailed them again this morning, asking to either get proof of shipping or cancel the order. I'll probably grab the Toytec ones if these fall through.

Yeah, I was actually giving it until Oct 1st before I went a different route. We’ll see what these look like when they show up, might still have to.
