Does anybody know if the black front emblem that comes on the '17 Gulf States TSS blackout package is an overlay or if the actual emblem is black?

I'm actually trying to help find the answer to this for the body shop my truck is currently at. It was lost in the collision so we can't check. All the overlay packages I'm finding don't include an overlay for the front emblem, so I was leaning to the emblem being black. But I can't find this part anywhere.

    Any help is much appreciated!

Interesting. Haven't heard of a toyota blacked out emblem. Do you have any pictures?

Hmm interesting. I know some people with the pre-TSS sensors where able to paint theirs, now with the sensors you can by vinyl decals to go over the chrome.
    I wish you luck!

I have a 2017 CM with the TSS blackout package. I just looked at mine and honestly, it just looks like a piece of black plastic.

a suggestion I might give you if you can’t find the black is to have a chrome emblem hydrodipped. I’m obviously new here and don’t know about the rules about suggesting a place (don’t know if they are a sponsor or not), but I have a place that has a very good reputation on another forum I frequent.

@Fishhead, I really appreciate you taking a look at your truck for me. I'll definitely consider that option if we can't find a replacement.

Check out overlay kit 00016-34890, it’s shown as an option in the kit.

I like that - too bad you have to buy the whole bundle to get it though!

@Will1606 This is exactly what I was after. I got in contact with Sparks, confirmed fitment, and since this part wasn't listed individually, they sent me a custom invoice for just that piece. $32. I ordered a wireless charging tray while I was at it. Good find man!

Glad I could help, I picked up the Black Out kit cheap on eBay few weeks back and saw it when I researched the Toyota part number. Like the wife says, full of useless info.:headbang:
