He told me the same BS for my 2019 and they still haven’t released that yet either. The 2019 and 2020 test trucks might be sitting next to each other collecting dust

The guy that had the supercharger on his 20’ just traded the truck in. It’s for sale at a Mossy dealership in Picayune, MS.

    This ^^^^.

The Sales Department will say anything to sell a vehicle. The Service Department is then assigned the task of turning turds into gold, and there's a high probability of failure and customer dissatisfaction. Caveat emptor.

Notice a lot of you guys running the Magnuson Supercharger vs the TRD made by Magnuson.

Are they exactly the same? At least in terms of tuning POST installation? TRDShop.com has the Magnuson branded one on their website.

What mileage did you get yours installed on?

I thought TRD stopped having magnuson make them for them.

Would make sense why I don't see the TRD branded one. =)

Want to jump on the SC train. Got 75k miles on the truck, wondering if anyone got one installed with higher mileage than that?

It's been a while but I just reached out to Magnuson. Cindy informed me that their programming was complete and they are in the product testing phase. She asked me to email her with my vehicle specifics so that, when they do release the product, they will notify those that have been waiting.
They are not sure of which air intake box they will be using or which tuner they will be using; Bullydog or HP Tuners.

I thought HPTuners only worked up to 2018?

Until recently, all tuner could only code for Tundras up to 2018. Toyota changed the coding from 2018 (H-key) to 2019 & 2020 (G-key). From what I heard, OVTune recently cracked the ecu coding for the G-key and other companies are following suit. Magnuson eluded to the fact that they have access to the coding by saying something along the lines of 'programming is complete and is in the testing phase'.
I heard from a 3rd party (on this site) that Magnuson recently moved from Bullydog to HP Tuners. When I asked Cindy, from Magnuson, this question she did acknowledge that they are using HP Tuners for some models and are not sure of which one they will be using for the 2019-2020 release.

I thought that the way that they were able to crack the encryption was after an update was pushed by the dealer to that particular year. For example OVTuning used to tune the 2019 by using the 2018 ECU. I believe that there was an update to the ECU on the 2019, and now they no longer need the 2018 ECUs to be able to tune the 2019.

That's just my understanding of it, and hopefully you're right. I know you guys are waiting and wanting to throw one on. I'm still debating whether or not I want one on mine.

Kevin @ Magnuson said the 2019 tune is almost ready, and the 2020 tune will be ready shortly after that. I guess I better start saving

I was told by the guys at Magnuson that it was going to be closer to the end of the year.
I was told by the guys at SuperchargersOnline that it was going to be about 4 week from when I called; Sept 10th.
I've gotten so much mixed up information that I'm just waiting for an official announcement.

While the skeptic in me wonders how they're tuning a 2019 (AFAIK the only tuning tool that can do it is OV's vfTuner), if this is true this is great news!

Once they get the tunes out, then comes the process for Californians of waiting for the CARB E/O. I don't think they ever ended up certifying the 2018 in CA, not sure why, but I did notice that all of their prior E/O's tended to clump years together.

Toyota likely pulled the TRD Blower for a reason.

It will be hard to tell what impact S/C will have on Tundra reliability with all the variables at play. People that install S/C probably have other mods installed too. You also have three companies manufacturing S/C for the Tundra now. Throw in all the various tuners available. Driving habits and routine maintenance will also have a big impact.

From what I understand they are waiting on HP Tuner or another company for the tuning solution. No mention of Orange Virus.

There was a bunch of anecdotal evidence of folks claiming the 3UR-FE was designed to be boosted (lol). When TRD pulled out of doing blowers, they pulled out across the board, it wasn't just for the Tundra's/3UR-FE's. I'd imagine the increased liability (due to the offered warranty) was a factor in nixxing the program, but there are articles around citing other reasons: http://www.trucktrend.com/news/1506-toyota-discontinues-truck-superchargers

Right. They've been very tight lipped about the tuner they are planning to use for the 19/20 Tundras (probably due to a combination of lack of knowledge on the sales team and also maybe they haven't actually made a decision).

2019 calibration for the Magnuson kit officially finished and available on their website, go get 'em! :D

CA owners, the kit is CARB pending, of course. :ballchain:

    https://www.magnusonsuperchargers.com/product-p/01-19-57-1xx-bl.htm

Also, as mentioned earlier, if you click on the "Technical Specs" tab on the 2019 kit, you'll see at the bottom they've switched to HP Tuners (woop woop!) as the reflash software as evidenced by the PDF instructions for reflashing.

Yup, I've heard the same as well. For the CA folks(myself included), the CARB EO number is key. The push button start integration on the 2020+ ecm's apparently adds another layer of difficulty.

Ideally, I'd love to be in the market for the Maggie kit on my '21 by end of year - not holding my breath, however... especially with CARB pending. Guess we'll see!

I just got an e-mail back from Magnuson this morning about the 2019 supercharger. They said that they are using OV for the tuning, which is no surprise there because they are the only ones that have actually cracked the 2019 ECU's.

Magnuson is going for it! The previous CARB E/O (D-488-41) was performed at SEMA Garage, so I took a gander at their Facebook page and found a photo of them testing this truck!
