@empty_lord hey man do you know of any shops around our area that does undercoating for vehicles frames? As long as its within a couple hours of me its fine.. I've gotta get some woolwax on my old girl, or I could pay you a couple hundred to do it too lol

Why not just buy the kit and do it yourself? By the time you pay someone you could have the sprayer paid for and get to use it every year after that for only the cost of the wool-wax.

I do mine each November with just the spray cans and it doesn't take me that long.

Ah, the sweet smell of tobacco barns ablaze always roots me, and brings back memories of better times.

A staple of this time of year for my region.

Should I get the 4 can kit or the 12 can kit? Not sure how many it might take and if anyone else has an idea

Always stock a little more than you think you're going to need.

    Does the stuff go bad?
Probably not. I can't say for sure as I've never used it.

Will it take up some room sitting on a shelf, or whatever?
    Yeah, a little bit.

Have extra for next years coating if it doesn't take a whole lot?
    Not a bad idea.

My situation is a bit different becauase I'm only trying to protect the frame. If I was up north, and knew I was going to be driving in salt/brine for an entire winter, I would spray everything.

I'd say this kit would probably be plenty for you but you can always google it. I know on Tacomaworld they do Wool-Wax days where they meet at someone's house and have a line of trucks they spray. Maybe you could try to organize one for your area and make some money in the process?

Only places I know of only do rubberized undercoating that I highly advise avoiding at all cost

Dude I know! It's so annoying... I'm literally calling all of the so called shops around here and all of them are only rubber undercoatings. It literally makes zero sense to me at all

I'd be tempted to use them just to power wash the underside, and then perform media blasting.

Just pay for that service, and drive off so I can do Woolwax on my own.

No supercharger. It’s my car just like the last, but I let my father drive it to work so it stays stock for now

I will turbo it one day if he no longer needs it

Ziebart has 2 separate products, they've got a rust proofing and an undercoating. I wouldn't get the undercoat but the rustproofing was done on my truck when they Rhino lined the rockers.

Moving this to the lunchtable thread.
    Interesting!

@theblurry1 I will be watching your install with great interest. Remote start is something I've considered. It would help me start the truck from the porch, and allow it to warm up like I like before taking off.

Now, I have the lock/unlock fob. Would it be possible to integrate the existing system to the viper fob, or move the lock/unlock function to the Viper Fob only adding the remote start function?

    Am I making any sense?

Add remote start to factory fob without adding the extra cost of a lock/unlock viper system?

You can't move the remote start over to the factory key fob, unfortunately. True, the Viper remote start only system is $49, but it's no fun carrying two separate key fobs. FWIW, I picked up my Viper 4105V (version2) from eBay, manufacturer refurbished at $69.

Besides, the door lock/unlock function only requires two wires to splice into. Super easy, I'll see if I can get pics of my friend's install. Those two wires are right at the kick panel.
