Just out of curiosity is anyone having issues with rocks cutting their Grapplers??

I do a good about of fire roads and unmaintained forest paths, but most are hard pack with tons of rocks the size of your head.

Last week I noticed when rotating my tires that I had a 2" plus cut in the tread base ( bottom) of my tread and tons of tiny sharp flat rocks all the way into my tread. My local the shop said it should not happen and replaced the one with the 2" cut.

Are these normally very soft tires that get demolished by hard pack rocky trails?

Normally I run 37 psi on all four for the road and drop to 28 psi on trails.

I was thinking I could go way lower on trails from seeing other posts but wanted to play it safe.

This pic from the web looks close but I'm usually playing in a dryer environment. Just rocky like this.

Yes, have seen that. There was just a post this past week here about a members RGs being cut up a good bit, I believe one needed replacement.

Interesting I'll continue to search for that thread. I'm not looking to buy another set of tires though....
