Roughly seven weeks... delivery times are actually getting a bit longer rather than shorter. Demand must be stronger than ever or they are short staffed. Or both.

Apparently there are two versions, one for trucks with bed rails and one without. But, definitely double check with them by phone or email before placing your order. The locking mechanism uses the bed rails, I think if you don't have it, they send you something as a substitute.

No sir. The crossbin sits on the bed caps and not the bed rails.

My understanding is the lock uses the bed for locking it rather than the Toyota bed rail.
By the way, your review and write up helped me decide on the DB. Thank you for taking the time to honestly review it.

The lock uses what you set it to - I have mine set to be under the bed rails. I figure with a twist of the lock guides you could get it under the bed rails if you so desire, but it's something I haven't tried..

It was supposed to ship Sept 28, but when I called 3 days before, they said it was delayed and did not provide a time at that time. They said i should receive an email notification. Instead of waiting in suspense even longer, I ordered one of the outlet covers. Unfortunately, the outlet cover arrived with shipping damage. So now I am waiting for a replacement. The replacement was suppose to ship earlier this week, but that was delayed as well. Now I am expecting to receive the replacement cover sometime next week...

Mine was scheduled for October 21 and arrived on the 22. I went with the smooth HD and 8” bin.

I also installed the shims, but even under moderate clamp tension the outer edge of the bed rail caps lift a little. We’ll see if there’s any water entry. I did not apply the front weatherstripping on the bed since I have a spray on bedliner. Will need to see if there’s any leaking there as well.

edit: Raining like crazy, took a look. Water is pooling at the center support and following the little track on the top of the bed rail cap (behind the diamondback gasket) towards my tailgate, then rolling over the edge. Hmmm.

Were you able to fix this? I have the same bed rails. The items I’d need to keep locked under a bed cover would need to stay dry.

I don’t have bed rails on my Double Cab. Not sure what the “shims” are, but I just have the SE, not the HD. Mine also came Line-X’ed from the dealer when I bought it. I never removed the bed caps, either, although I understand some have. Not sure if any of that makes a difference, though.

Anyway, I’ve taken mine on and off numerous times the past two years and have never had a leak issue. In fact, it’s off again at the moment since I’m currently hauling stuff in the bed. With mine, I had to tweak the tightness of the center piece and the end pieces til I got to that “sweet spot” - not too tight but tight enough. I also have to retighten the center piece a bit from time to time, but again, never too tight. I guess I’ve done it so many times I know how to tweak it just right. But I had to experiment with it a few times til I got it just to my liking when I first installed it.

I’ve ran mine through numerous car washes and it’s gone through heavy downpours since I got it. The only times it’s leaked was a bit through the tailgate edges (not the top) when running it through the car wash, and even then it was very mininal, nothing that would’ve gotten my gear wet.

Anyway, I would experiment some more with tweaking the tightness of each piece. Just make sure the center piece is not too tight. I wouldn’t say my center piece is loose, but it’s probably just a little tighter than finger tight if that makes sense. Of course, each truck is different, especially between the shorter Crew Cab beds and the longer Double Cab beds. So what works on one may not work with the other.

Not yet. Their customer service is sending me a new gasket, but I'm not going to replace the one that came on the panels. Instead, I'm going to use a short piece and place it just inside of the original gasket, so it's side by side, and lays right on top of the track in the bed cap where the water is flowing.

We had a ton of rain this past week and it leaked at all four corners of the center support. Not a ton of water, but enough to be concerned. The whole reason I went with the diamondback is that my bakflip mx4 leaked like crazy. At the moment I'm not super happy with this $2400 purchase.

There is a member on the tacoma forums with the exact same problem as me. Obviously different truck, but the tacoma has similar bed caps. Here's the thread: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/diamondback-cover-leaking-at-centerrail-corners.689478/

U can check out my build thread same name as username or the simple answer is they're auto access led battery powered led light strips. They have push button or motion activation options with timers for off. It's cheap and easy if you dont want to drill holes or hardwire. Had mine for years and only had to change batteries maybe once a year with pretty heavy use.

I’m waiting for a full replacement. Mine won’t stop leaking at the four corners of the center support no matter what I try. It’s so tight that it’s hard to open or close without two hands.

    Good customer service, though.

Have you tried loosening it up? I over tightened the center section the first time I put it on which caused some leaks. And are you sure it's the cover doing most of the leaking, the bed of the truck is far from leak proof, the DB showed just how much water the tailgate and front of the bed let it.

Yeah, their customer service is great. I’ve tightened the cab section so tight I had to stand on it to switch the locking mechanism open. Like belanger said, I later tweaked the middle and cab section where I didn’t have to put so much weight to open it. In fact, I just tweaked it again after putting it back on last week.

Yes, the middle isn’t over tightened, plus I have the shims installed. I was referring to the two panels. I have done everything they’ve recommended. The water is not coming in at the tailgate or near the cab. It’s at the four corners of the middle support.

You can see the water is running over the top of the bed rail caps. Happens during a light rain. Heavy rain it’s a stream coming in. Does this on both sides, front and rear panels.

Definitely not right. Hard to tell without a side by side comparison of a good one and a bad one where the issue is. I'm leaning to something on the rain catchers on the mid panel since it's all 4 corners - which would most likely only be fixed with a new section.

Yeah, I’m waiting on a smooth finish SE (estimated to arrive 1st week in February). Before the sales representative even took my order, he said I’d be looking at 43-46 days.
