Hi all. Searched but I can't find a sway bar quick release for our 1st gen Tundras. I remember reading comments in past of those who made their own. I was hoping those who have built quick releases for their sway bars could chime in on the best way to make them or if you all know of a shop that makes them?

    Thanks!

Another cost effective option is to unbolt the nuts and zip tie the hanging bar before offroading. Cut the ties and rebolt after. Those quick connects are $$$ and would perform the same as zip ties excepting they are not reusable.

I’ve seen the fronts quick connect, but none for the backs.

There are front quick release options?!? Sweet! Now I gotta search for those. I'll unbolt when need be but be cooler if I didn't have to.

    Thanks

Do the ultimate test, find someplace with a fork truck or whatever else you may have and lift a tire until the other ‘just’ starts to move then measure how high that tire is. Disconnect the sway bar and repeat test and post back up your results

I think the guy that made some that blew through here is selling them on fleebaai. They look nicely done in yellow zinc.

You might be referring to me, and if so my links are NOT on eBay. You might be seeing some cheap crap from China on there.

Here, these are what I have available for sale for 1st Gen's. Nothing for the rear, and disco's would be difficult to use since the sway bar is axle mounted rather than frame mounted.

Thanks for the link. So I would disconnect by removing the bolt? There isn’t a removable pin?

    Thanks

If you try to disconnect the rear you're going to run into issues, and that's the reason no one does this. In order to disconnect the rear you'll have to secure the loose sway bar up and out of the way. The problem with doing this since it's axle mount is that it's going to move with your axle. The only thing that you can do is build a sway bar disconnect rather than a sway bar link disconnect.

appreciate the info. Maybe I should just take the entire Rear sway bar off when need be.

the link you sent is for the front sway bar disconnect right?

I've made disconnects for the front before, but don't sell many of them. The front links on the 1st Gen Tunda's are the exact same style as the front links on 3rd Gen 4runner with one exception, and the being the Tundra links are about an inch longer. Most people will just opt for running longer links in the front to help get the sway bar back to its intended position. Adding longer links to the front will improve your suspension travel as it is, and you won't have to worry about binding a CV.

I replaced the original front sway bar with a hellwig. Do you think you can possibly make a disconnect for my front hellwig sway bar? Let me know how much you would like for your trouble.

Hellwig makes a front sway bar for our Tundras? They do not have anything for a 2018, I have been talking with them for a while about problems with my rear sway bar and I was asking about a front. Interested in what you have
