I recently bashed my rear bumper into the bed panel of my truck while off-roading. After a lot of research I am leaning towards this bumper. Hopefully it will prevent any future damage, house a couple of scene lights, and look awesome. I compared to the C4fab (long lead time, unpainted, most expensive) and the Fab Fours premium (not a fan of the aesthetic as much and no light mounting). Any input/review from folks that have this bumper and pics installed would be great. Would love to hear about installation experience, off-road protection and clearance, and what lights you mounted as auxiliary for the rear.
    Thanks! DFF9E241-7C08-4ACF-B5E6-B9EACBBE8384.jpgCC422EE6-9AFB-44D9-A624-206AB45D557E.jpg

It's a decent looking bumper but overpriced. $1,550 + tax & shipping is a bit ridiculous for that. You should be able to find one very similar for <$1K.

Found it a bit cheaper and free shipping by calling ADD and talking to Cole. C4fab is 1300+300 shipping. Fab Fours can be had for less but simpler design without light cutouts. What other recommendations do you have? My local welder could also make me a similar rear bumper for less but he’d have to have my truck for a while and is about to move shops.

I would love to have the stealth front and rear bumpers. Just out of my price range for discretionary mods.

She's a beaut but I think I'm just going to install LED's in my stock bumper and tie them into my reverse lights. Like the guy above said, a bit above my price point for a mod I don't really need. You're in a different boat. I'd almost consider that lucky.

I was in the same boat with my front bumper when someone backed a trailer into it. I had to replace it and didn't want stock. I have no input on the rear but I went with the stealthfighter front and was very satisfied with the entire experience. The parts, welds, fitment, and finish were all top notch. I wouldn't expect the rear to be any different.

As far a clearance, I always found the trailer hitch to be my weakest link.

Definitely a more economical option and still looks good. I wish I could compare them in real life to see the differences in materials, construction, and craftsmanship. I am just assuming by price there will be a difference. But I could be wrong, or maybe it’s not worth the premium?
I just called a website that has the ADD in stock and offered me a significant discount for being a “first responder” which I never really thought I counted for as an RN, but with covid I guess times are changing.

Exact same thing is going to happen again. For that price you can probably get a Fab guy to build a custom high clearance bumper and relocate the hitch.

In your experience the replacement “off-road” bumper will bend into the bedside as well? I would really like to keep my factory hitch though it is very frequently rubbing.

If you put any weight of the truck down on the bumper, it will for sure push it into the bedside.

Thanks for that info, as they market these bumpers to be durable and rugged for off road use.

Until I got a rear bumper fabbed, I just removed the corners. Wasn’t pretty but better than smashing up the bedsides.

The difference in the bumper you mentioned & the RC is thickness of the metal. The RC one looks to be very thin (<1/8"). If you don't go w/a full high clearance bumper, the wings going along the bed will flex if not 3/6"+ or gussetted really well.

Ok the stealth is 1/8” for body and 3/16” for mounting. For comparison the C4fab which has a long wait time, is pricey for shipping, and comes unpainted is 3/16” for main body and 1/4” mounting plates. I am gonna call my local fabricator again, but unfortunately last we talked he’s busy, planning a shop move, and would have to keep the truck for a week. I also don’t live in Cali where there’s a ton of off road fab going on locally.
Thanks for the input. I have more information than I started with. I also don’t wanna go the immediate gratification route and be unhappy in the end. So I’m gonna wait at least the weekend to decide which direction to go.

Been looking into rear bumpers also. It dosent seem that the C4 and ADD offer much more clearance if any. Maybe more rigid and would help from bending so easy. I was thinking of just buying some DOM tubing and making my own similar to the SS Built and the evil manufacturing high clearance bumpers. Not sure why they are priced so high, then throw on $300 for shipping. The materials are are close to $300 when I priced them out and that would be with extra.

Initially it's very time consuming but once it goes into CAD it takes no time designing, very little time cutting & the rest is welding, which a couple welders could do 6-7 bumpers a day. Cost of steel is very reasonable right now & I'd be willing to bet there's <$150 in material for that Stealth bumper, especially being only 1/8" thick for 98% of it.

    @Skey44
Look on ebay. I bought a "cheap" knock-off All-Pro bumper for my Tacoma for $575 shipped. It was 1/8" w/ 3/16" mounts that were also shackles, higher clearance than stock, & had LED flush pods mounted in it. Stuff for Tundras is inherently more expensive but shouldn't be much more for something similar.

I was looking at make a tube style bumper out of 1 3/4 DOM like the SS. Still materials aren’t bad and have access to welders and benders. Probably give it a shot

Tubing would be easier & cheaper than plate, especially having access to a tubing bender.

Leaning towards waiting for my fabricator to get his new garage setup. Don’t believe the stealth fighter bumpers are truly for off road based on their steel thickness. Sure the C4fab is burly, but with the lead time and expense I can get something custom for cheaper and about the same time frame. Think I’m gonna do hybrid style front and rear. This is a front he did for a 2nd gen. He makes his bumpers completely custom and burly. Feel confident I’ll get something functional and with an aesthetic I like from him. Already have his sliders and love them. EFF68CF1-F38E-45BE-B00A-325B1CFBA0C2.jpg

I didn’t know the ADD Stealth was only 1/8” thick. It certainly looks great, but for its cost I thought it would be slightly thicker. At least the mounting is 3/16”. I agree with the others that DOM tubing (.120”) is a great choice.
