Waiting on a call back any moment to hear what BFG had to say. Based off of so many people saying they had similar experiences just from google searching it seems like they must get this alot. Pray that the length of time Ive had them isnt a issue. They can see the history of me coming back over and over to americas in that time so hopefully they help me out.

Relying too much on history, heritage to give a shit about making a quality product.

Went through 10 new KO2s before telling DT enough is enough.

I am an authorized dealer for BFG Michelin Toyo Nitto Conti and Cooper. BFG probably represents 10% of my all-terrain sales. But, they also represent 75% of my ride disturbance complaints from customers. I never have a problem with Nitto or Toyota or Cooper. On a positive note, Michelin Corporation is pretty good about adjustments on the BFG products. It’s not like they haven’t heard it before.

My terra grappler G2’s ride perfectly smoothly on my tundra.I put them on for a reason. If I thought the FG will give me a better ride I would’ve gone with them.

Out of curiosity, why did you choose the Coopers?

Calmer tread pattern that is better for a lot on road driving. Still aggressive sidewall for the look and great reviews.

    Wow, good for you man.

Amazing after one year of wear.

    Well done on BFG's / Michelin's part.

Gotta admit I was pretty shocked to hear that myself. The guy I am working with at DT was also surprised but said because of the paper trail of all the balancing I was going in for BFG said he is obviously battling something there just refund him. Pretty stoked excited to try the Coopers.

Here they are! Didn’t get to drive too far with them but noticeably softer ride and very very quiet. Love them so far

I guess I must be in on the good side of the BFG tire gods more than 10 years of the BFG Ko's and all has been good on any of the trucks and SUV that I have had them on.

Congrats!, regarding the softer ride, are these load rate E as the KO2s? if not, that could be the reason.

That's been my experience as well, however I have not owned KO2s, just the previous KOs.

Sucks that you had to go through all the trouble with the KO2 but at least they did they right thing. I have the Cooper AT3 XLT also for over a year now, I love them...very smooth and quiet.

They may have been the best 20 or 15 years ago, but Toyo and Cooper have made way better tires and advances than BFG has. Like every other post here, look at the Toyo AT3 or the Cooper AT3 XLT. Way lighter, 60k tread warranty and performs just as good. BFG marketing is great, but actual forum member experiences don’t lie.

Also look at the 285/75R18. Weight wise and rub wise it is much better than the old 35x12.5 all American standard set up. I’ve had the Cooper AT3 XLT and the Toyo AT III and the Toyo MT in 285/75R18. The Cooper sat at 34.8 high and is an amazing on and off road tire. Toyo measured an 34.5 tall and was almost identical to the Cooper. Cooper is a few pounds lighter. I think only two or three pounds lighter per tire.

They are load range E but the smoothness could be coming from the fact that this is a larger size tire in comparison to my previous tall/skinny tire. The Cooper tread pattern (which is much more geared toward a onroad AT) coupled with the size, I think is what is making it a really smooth ride. Drove the freeway to work this morning and the steering was like driving on glass no shakes or vibrations. Coming from a 2013 Tundra with 35x12.5x18 tires, 20's are going to tell you more about the road but now that I have a 35 back on the truck to compare its not bad at all plus 20's look way nicer IMO. Overall I love these tires all around: the look, the ride and the noise. I have driven Nitto Terra Grapplers, BFG KO2s, Toyo ATII and now these and I would have to see initial feelings I like these the best so far.

The “tall and narrow” excuse is beyond ridiculous. A wider tire would be heavier and therefore harder to balance.

AND that is the OE size for ford superduty trucks.

My last set of bfg at ko balanced fine when new, but their smoothness got worse with age. Toyo at’s had no issues in 3 years like that

Not saying its an excuse by any means but you gotta think about this any additional rubber and air between you and the road is going to result in more cushion..... Tall Narrow tires are not bad at all but after having driven them they definitely are more reactive to bumps grooves and different roads then a large 12.50 wide tire. As for the balancing my wheels have left over tape from weights ALL over them cause of DT trying to keep them in balance....... Couldve been just those tires without a doubt I truly cannot blame size on that. Like you said a TON of fords run that size right off the lot.

Im defending the narrow tire. They will ride better than a wider tire, im saying the shop shouldn’t blame the width lol

Well that could have been just purely being lost as to what the issue was and saying maybe its the tire size lol no idea there. I think it truly was just a really bad set of tires at this point......I like that tank heavy tire feeling anyways so I shouldve started with the 35s but no doubt I will even say the skinny tall tire ride more like stock with that aftermarket look.

Maybe I was lucky. Got 95,000 miles out of the first set of KO2's I had on my old Ford FX4. Second set was at 40,000 miles when I sold it and still were in fantastic shape. i never looked at how much weight it took as I really don't care and long as they were smooth when driving. Trying out Nitto's on my Tundra now. Will see how they do. they are def louder.
