What tailgate letter inserts have people had good success with? I just want a matte blank to match the stock badge overlays. I've read a few reviews on Amazon about them fading after time in heat/UV and didn't know what material people were having success with, Zinc, plastic, vinyl, etc.

Any experience or links are welcome.

    Thanks

D69F14AB-0A76-45D9-B2F3-79E8F9189ED9.jpg I just received these today from Amazon. I cant attest to the durability but they are very well made with genuine 3M automotive tape on the back. They are definitely some kind of metal with some heft. I love the 3D look Easy to install, just take your time. Also, I removed the 4 X 4 emblem rather than buy a black overlay. It really cleaned up the tailgate.

I got mine from Toyota parts directly. Well worth it, and peace of mind they are made for the truck perfectly. OEM upgrade

Thanks for the replies. I didn't realize there were oem inserts. Seems like those should've been included with my TSS Black package.

I got OEM too and haven’t had any issues with them. Been in for over 2 years. Fit perfect.

I got the aftermarket set; can't remember the brand, they fit fine and look OEM like the letters on the doors (chrome). I have had them on for about a year and they haven't come lose or fallen off, so I am happy with them.

I bought the Amazons a few months ago. June I believe they are great, no fading yet and still stuck on there.

I got the same ones from Amazon that others did. Put them on in May and 4 of the 6 letters are faded to hell, and the other 2 look new. Obviously not very happy with them, maybe I got a bad batch...

This is what I was afraid of after reading reviews. Seems they are hit or miss. Think I'll go with toyota oem.
