Hello everyone, I recently purchased headlights from morimoto for my 2020 tundra limited. I installed the lights with harness equipped and purchased the led harness as well (I was told it was required even tho my truck has stock led lights and led running lights) the lights work perfectly fine, the issue I’m having is my tails don’t work, I have brakes, turn signal, just no running lights in the rear. I ran through my fuses and found that my TAIL 10 amp was blown. I replaced it and everything works fine up until the lights turn on, the fuse blows again. I contacted morimoto and I was told the fuse supplied with the headlights needed to be placed on the Injector/ecl 2 tap. I also placed them there with no luck as soon as the lights turn on, the tails blow out right away. If anyone is having that same issue and found a solution, please let me know. It’s super frustrating and annoying having to deal with this issue. Morimoto Told me to tap in to the (ign 10 amp) Once that didn’t work they told me to tap into (inj 10 am) again that didn’t work, I was told to tap into (Efi 2 10 amp) that also didn’t work. Thank you for your help.

Post a pic of where your fuse tap is plugged in. I just installed mine in my 2020 a couple of hours ago with no issues.

Where’d you plug in your tap? Also I’m sure you purchased the led harness, my package came with a 2 end extension that plugs in to the trucks harness and the other end plugs in the lights. I tried it with that harness as well as the led harness and it also didn’t work

Mine is plugged into the 10 amp fuse "IGN" I think it was. Morimotos video on the install for the 14-19 models shows the fuse in a different spot. I can take a pic of it in the morning. Mine was halogen so I didn't have to order the led harness.

The fuse that it shows is the 10 amp on the end, but it's different on the 2020. On the 20, there is a 7.5 in that spot, so it's actually needs to be plugged into the 10 amp which is next to it.

On the video posted, the fuse in that position on your truck is a 7.5 instead of a 10 amp like the video shows. The next one is a 10 amp.....that where I plugged mine in.

The harness on the left I was told I needed to purchase. Which works fine. Did you end up having a harness like the one the right? Because I plugged the one on the right and I had no turn signals. When I disconnected the harness on the right, the turn signals worked fine

The harness on the right doesn't get used on trucks with halogen headlights if I recall correctly. Let me find the thread that talks about it.

Jumping in here to see if I can learn. Just bought a 2020 TRD Pro and am disappointed with the factory LED lights. I had Morimoto HIDs in my 2018 Tacoma that I traded and loved them. Are the Morimoto LEDs a significant upgrade over the factory LED lights? Seems like there are issues wiring these up in the 2020 models, but its probably worth the hassle if they have better light output and a longer range. Any info or opinions is greatly appreciated.

    So sorry to thread jack~~

They are definitely worth the upgrade in my opinion. I had them in my 18 4Runner and they were amazing. If they work properly and function as they should, they’re worth the upgrade. Hope that helped.

Did any have any issues with the DRL turning off once low/high beam comes on. Pretty sure they're just supposed to dim and not go off. @Headlight Revolution

How long have you had them installed and what slot is the fuse tap plugged into?

Just installed them this summer, didn't have to use the fuse tap, the platinum came with LED DRL...

For those who will come to this post in the future looking for an answer in how to stop your tail light fuse to get blown up once you install morimoto 2nd gen on ypur tundra w/ oem led the only thing i had to do was swap the position on this 2 cables the ( black and yellow) in the turn signal adapter provided by the supplier and your problem should be fix. If you try that and still have no turn signal check your fuse box under the drivers the 15a Haz fuse could be blown replace it. that should do it it worked for my 2020. Tundra limited

Put the yellow cable where the black is and the black where the yellow is.
