    Question for the the forum...
This past weekend I installed a 1.75" leveling kit on my truck. Prior to the install, the factory rake was right at 2". I installed the kit exactly per the instructions. The next day I took the truck to the shop and got an alignment done. The tech said that everything was in spec and I was good to go. Now you would think that the truck would sit almost exactly level post install but now my 1.75" kit raised the front end a full 3" and now I'm squatting a little bit. Now I know there are several options to raise the rear end but I'm still curious as to why the front end is higher now. BTW the truck has been handling fine with now issues at all.

The shims for our trucks say 1/4” adds 1/2” lift. I wonder if it’s the same for your kit. So 1.75” really added 3.5”. If you like the height, you could get blocks or shackles for the rear and level it out that way.

I'm not a super knowledgeable gear head so I guess I'm just hoping that I didn't screw up the shock or whatever. That's only part that I actually took out and put back in so the variables should be pretty minimal and like I said, the alignment guy said everything is fine.

I'd like to know exactly how one of these is better or worse than the other... pertaining to ride quality ???

Both are nothing more than spacers or mounting relocation devices... neither of which will have a single iota of impact on ride quality... assuming the springs and shocks remain the same.

They will however affect the pinion angle differently and may or may not need a center support bearing spacer to correct.

The blocks have more impact on pinion angle... since they move the rear straight down.
The shackles will move the rear axle down while slightly rotating the pinion up, since the front of the spring is stationary.

Unless you are changing the springs or shocks, the ride quality will not change by simply putting a spacer under the rear springs.
