Choose "export" to see file location obd is storing the file. Place the downloaded file in the location and then import

The gear and tc status are two gauges overlapped.

OK, iPhone X, I have exported OBD Fusion settings to try and identify where the folder is. I opened Files and looked in all the folders for the .stg file. NOTHING! I assume it is somewhere On My iPhone but the Files app is not showing the directory. I tried to Import to see if I could identify the folder that way but it only shows the .stg file that is available to import. Can anyone help?

EDIT: I also searched for documentation on the OBD Fusion site and using Google to no avail.

So I found where it exports the file on my Android device. Needed to download a file manager to see and move stuff around. Renamed my exported file and deleted it once I relocated the downloaded file to its location. Then imported it to OBDFusion and overwrote the existing Dashboard and still see nothing. Now I have no Dashboards at all. I thought getting TechStream to work was a pain in the ass but this is just about as F d up.

Am I missing some selection during the import process ?

I did buy the add on for my 2020 so that not the problem

A few other folks have iphones and have imported succesfully. I found location on Android by exporting first, which showed me where the main file is. If you have dropbox account the import and export integration is actually pretty good and much more seamless. It gives option to import/export to dropbox and on import you choose from the different files on dropbox as well. Good way to keep a backup of the file too for when you upgrade or change phones.

I certainly wont defend obdfusion for their unintuitive import process. I use dropbox to export/import and backup my .stg file. The integration with dropbox is much better vs local storage.

The local storage location is here:Screenshot_20200829-122839.jpg

I tested the file a few minutes ago and it worked fine for me. Maybe start by deleting the current .stg file in the local folder and re-download and move the new .stg file to that location again. On import maybe try removing the other dashboard rather than just overwrite. Should work.

So I tried Dropbox and got the same results. The part that seems strange is if I have my default Dashboard loaded and choose all 4 options when importing so it pretty much deletes /overwrites everything I still have my default Dashboard and nothing else. If I delete the Dashboard I still will have a blank when done importing. Also if I choose none of the options I still get no change. Almost like it dose nothing at all even thou is says the import was completed.

Hard to say what issues is. Maybe try selecting all the options when importing. Worst case reach out to obd fusion, as they have been responsive when someone has an issue.

I have tried just about every option with the same results...Nothing changes with the Dashboards. I deleted all of the default ones. Made 3 different dashboards using the Toyota options that are only there when you buy them. Do you see a indication that it is importing the dashboard other than Import Succeeded The following settings were imported ?

I also tried using the PID editor and used the same info from post 13. They tested good but was not able to save or at least I did not see that option.

That is really odd. So it is not bringing in any of thw gauges at all? I can give you screen shots of my settings for each gauge and you can create them from scratch. Something isnt adding up on the import/export side of things though.

Have you tested the pid pack using their generic gauges to make sure your vehicle is registering? Have you connected to the truck and used the vehicle editor to automatically identify the truck and it shows up with vin, etc...?

All of the default dashboard gauges work just fine like RPM and Speed, engine temp, battery. It has my truck registered and I have been able to add PIDs from the expansion pack and make them work in a dashboard.

When you create PIDs and then it wants you to test them, but what do you have to do to save that PID to a dashboard ? I am doing this in the User- Defined PIDs.

I had Ruggybuggy send me a copy and I get the same results.. Nothing. I created a couple of dashboard with some pids from the Enhanced Diagnostics. I exported them and then wiped out all of the dashboards. Then import using all 4 of the check marks. I see them get imported and it tells me what it imported as far as pids and dashboards. Try to contact OBD Fusion and see if they can help figure this out.

The other thing that I noticed is the file size is 44k but when I built 3 dashboards with 2 pids in each the file size was around 430k. Message sent to OBD Fusion.

I have a case with OBD Fusion and also sent him one of the files. I wonder if it is a difference in software. I am at 5.11.0.1200 on my Iphone and 5.10.0 on my Android tablet. I am able to use 3 different dashboards with a couple of custom PIDs on both devices with no problem.

Finally was able to get both devices working with the help of Tech Support at OBD Fusion. I needed to turn on Simple Management so I did on both devices. I was then able to Import the files and see that they download from Dropbox, and showed up but only on my Iphone. I then exported the Dashboards from The Iphone and then imported to the Android device successfully. Again thanks to jtwags and Ruggybuggy for sending me links to there Dropbox.

this thread is full of great information and ideas!

i have one question: what are your settings on the TC lock up gauge?

when my tc is locked, my gauge reads 0.5

when my tc is unlocked, my gauge reads 0.0

would like to utilize a green (when locked) / black (when unlocked) color scheme. cannot figure this one out.

one other question: why are some using custom pid's for the pan and tc temps? if you buy the toyota specific in app purchase at $9.99, you get these w/out having customized formulas.

question #2 is mostly to assist others who are new to this. fyi. i am still a newb myself; just received my veepeak on monday.

additionally, i CAN actually feel the tc lock / unlock. would never have noticed this without this app.

i fully understand that most of you have the tc lock and gear gauges overlapped. i also understand how to and have created my own dashboard (pictured below - very similar to what most others have posted); farily tech savy. and, the app is extremely intuitive; mostly figured it out over the course of an evening.

i do not want to overlap the t/c and gear selection, instead i plan on having this gauge completely filled w/ green when locked, and black when unlocked.

obviously, my a/t oil temp 1 is at my pan, and my a/t oil temp 2 is at the t/c. as soon as my t/c locked, that temp dropped to the 217.6 my pan is reading.

using the veepeak odbcheck ble+ in combination with the odb fusion app on an iphone 11pro if this helps others.

yes, i know my engine oil temp isnt working. changed it from the sae pid to the engine oil temp pid available in the $9.99 add on; that should fix it; we'll see tomorrow morning.

To adjust the tc lockup dial to be conpletely filled, go to "style designer" > select "range" from drop down > adjust "inner position" to 0 and "outer position" to 1.

pretty sure i got this figure out. needed to enable "fill". i'll know for sure in the morning.

all it took was a couple drinks and a clear mind...

first pic is what i expect to see when my t/c is unlocked; value is 0.0

second pic is what i expect to see when my t/c is locked; value is 0.5 (green circle)

I have not been able to find the PIDs that are required for the dashboard I received from a board member. Frustrating, I will need to spend a lot more time trying to figure things out

Make sure your purchased pids are available. When you long press a gauge and select "display configuration" then click "item" you should see these options and your toyota pid pack. That is where most of the pids are located.

First I want to thank jtwags for sharing his OBD Fusion display and to the others who developed the transmission PIDs. I have learned a lot from you guys.

While attempting to verify the temperature ranges I was frustrated with the difficulty in trying to find information from Toyota. I then contacted my dealer's service manager for info on my vehicle. This is what he provided:

Engine thermostat set point: 80-84 C (176-183 F) and high temp warning at 248 F.

Transmission thermostat set point (heater by-pass): 111 F and high temp warning over 221 F and powertrain code at 230 F.

I am curious if you guys think these numbers make sense.

Also, is there a high temperature warning for engine oil that is different from the engine cooling high temp?

Imagine if Toyota hooked a page on the Head Unit Display to show all of this information.
I have the same problem, imports @jtwags settings but nothing changes from the "default" dashboard. Checked all options during the import. In settings, I have "Use Simple Dashboard Management" enabled. iPhone loading the .stg file from Dropbox.

Did you purchase the Toyota extras ? If not that may be why. Have you changed any settings ? Are you at the latest version of IOS 14.0.1? Not sure if it would make a difference. If all else fails get a hold of OBD Fusion tech support and they can help.

Yes, I purchased them the moment I installed app. Yes, I am on the latest iOS.

I have the Toyota, Lexus, option and can select gauges. When I import .stg file, am I supposed to then see a different dashboard from default? Or is it that I still have to setup the gauges myself?

No they should show up with the default gauges. Have you tried to delete all of the dash boards and then import the files. I looked at mine and the only ones I have are the ones that I imported from jtwags.

When you are importing you should see that the files that it imports. If you see nothing and it completes successfully you will not have any files. I hope this makes some sense.
