I have a 2010 Tundra with 216k miles. I purchased it two months ago and it was a one owner vehicle with all maintenance done at the same dealership it was purchased from which is also where I bought it.

Would you trust towing approx 4k pounds halfway across the country with that many miles on a Tundra? I just want to make sure if I do this that I shouldn't have to worry about anything.

I towed a 93 sc400 about 600 miles, thats probably a combined weight of 6k, should be fine... mine is an 07 5.7, 215k at the time, 222k now..

Well, you probably didn't buy it just to look at it.

Charge your phone, make sure your AAA card is up to date and in your wallet, hop in and GO!

I failed to mention, I have the 5.7L engine.

There's a possibility of a cross country move and I would need to be able to tow one of our other vehicles if possible.

Wouldn't hesitate. Mine has more miles and I tow the same or more almost every weekend. Hell I supercharged mine at your mileage :D

You’ll be fine. Maybe check the brake pads and fluid levels before you go. When was the last time the diff fluid was changed?

My transmission went out in my 2010. While it was having issues, I pulled about 4000 lbs in a uhaul from mo to tx. I had to let it warm up before it would shift after stops, but made it.

I'd worry more about the trailer. If it's your trailer, make sure you have good tires and bring spares and tools to change them. Also check and repack the bearings.

Check the trailer tires and bearing caps for overheating when you stop for gas.

How much did you get your Tundra for? I'm curious to see how well they hold their value with 200k plus miles on it. Drive safe and congratulations.

4k lbs and under you’ll be fine. Not sure of your fluid history, but a refresh might be nice before the journey.

$13K out the door with TTL. I think it was $11.7K before TTL. It was below NADA which is what my bank went off of so they were good with it.
