I find the Toyota white paint to be of high quality. I just waxed mine and was impressed with the shine and smoothness. That’s something I had missed with my last 2 Ford trucks. I’m not a fan of Pearl White BTW. Real pain in the ass to match in the event of an accident.

Yep. Just have to take care of it. Just shined mine up a bit today.....not bad for 5 years.

The white paint on mine is pretty great for a 10+ year old truck.

The white paint on my 08 is awful.

Compare that to my friend's older white Tacoma (2000? It's the old crew body) which gets the same care parked outside- his paint shines, mine does not.

I give it a polish and wax every 6 months or so, and it looks better for a little while. I'm thinking of trying one of those ceramic coatings to see if it stops the fade/chalk.

You should use a spray wax after each wash in between regular waxes. I bet you’ll see better results if you just stay on top of it a little more.

I'll try that. I admit I've been super lazy to wash and wax this thing in the last couple years :D . The older paint was much more tolerant of neglect- my 250K mile 98 Tacoma (metallic gray) still shined when I sold it.

Yeah its the lack of clearcoat. I’ve been lazy about washing mine lately too. But when I do wash it, I try to do a real good job.

Try a more abrasive compound and polishing pad. Then wax/sealant. Super white is very "hard" paint.

Ditto. I get mine waxed about twice a year and looks brand freaking new when they are done.

A little of this and a little of that.
I hope I don't have this problem too. For now my paint looks showroom ready. I wash/clean it at least once per week and wax once every 4/6 weeks. I think tomorrow I'll get out the orbital polisher with some 3m no. 2 & 3.

Hi Devin. Was wondering if you could share with me the color you used to blackout your front grill and middle bumper piece? Like it a lot!

The Super White on my 2007 still cleans up well, I can't complain.

Toyota paint is trash period. Color doesn’t matter. I religiously hand wash mine and wax it myself and still not impressed. Too thin.

Just an FYI, if you see a user name with a black line through it like this
    upload_2020-10-7_15-25-2.jpg
Then that person has been banned, in one way or another. Sometimes it's just for a few days, but some get a permanent. IRCC Atomic's ban was permanent. Another tool to help with this is clicking on the user name and seeing if the pop up gives you the "last seen" info. It won't show for all members as it can be made private, but it will give you an idea.
