Got the Rough Country rear bumper on! Instructions were wrong in a few places, but got it figured out. They said 3-4 hours, it took me 3 by myself and didn't get to wiring the lights yet. Still waiting for custom switches from AOB, should be here today.

For anyone looking to install this bumper, the big foam blocks that come with it work PERFECTLY for supporting everything going in and out.

It's one of my favorite places on the planet. If I ever get rich I will definitely buy some land there. I'm lucky enough to be a mechanic there. If you're ever in Montana and feel like throwing some money away, take a tour with us.

Wasn't too bad considering I did it alone. Very glad I decided to ask for a PDF version of the instructions, the paper ones they sent looked like they were printed on a dot-matrix printer in 1985. Also the instructions are in Australian, so some things took a little figuring out.

One thing to beware of before purchasing is to know that you need to trim the plastic grille surround and the plastic curvy pieces below the headlights. Also, you won't be able to remove the grille without removing the bumper once it's on, so do any work between the grille and radiator before putting the bumper on. (Grille swap, TSS relocation, etc.)

Thanks for the compliment! I am in love with it.

Sound deadened the front doors and wired up the KC roo lights today!

These pictures were taken in pro mode with locked exposure:

It's still pretty noisy in the cab, but the speakers sound a LOT better already. I believe most of the sound comes from the floor. Can't wait to get that done this weekend.

My battery terminals arrive tomorrow so I can finally finish wiring up the winch. Once I do I need to pre-set the cable so I will definitely be taking some action shots of the winch in use!

@100LL love your build. I love functionality and having a truck that can do anything I need it to. That’s how I base all my mods as well, but yours is so much better looking haha :hattip::popcorn::bowdown:

Any way you could share this pdf? The black & white directions suck.

You have the same winch (Smittybilt H2O 10K) as I’m trying to install but the control box isn’t mounting up. It says I need to order a separate Smittybilt control box mount kit but that kit isn’t available anymore. Maybe it’s in the Smittybilt winch box but I’m not seeing it? What did you do to mount the control box?
    Thanks for all your help!

I also found that out the hard way... Had it attached with zip-ties for a couple weeks. I ordered the kit you're referring to, P/N 3500770, from here but it came directly from ARB, so you may be able to call them and order it from ARB directly.

It's mostly that they're written using Australian slang, so it just takes some time to figure out what they're saying at some points. You should be able to figure it out though, once you have the parts in front of you.

Sorry for the delay, and good luck! Let me know if you have any questions during the install.

Thanks! Did your factory fog light wiring match the ARB fog light bulbs? Mine do not. Truck has H16 bulbs and the ARB’s are H4. This bumper has kicked my ass!

Forgot about that part, nope! I had to splice the original fog harness to the new bulbs.

Do you have it mounted yet? Looking forward to pics. Hang in there, it will be worth it!

Thanks for the reply! How do you like the quality/construction of the rear bumper? After looking at some other options, the RC price seems to good to be true.

I love almost everything about the rear RC bumper so far. The step cut-outs have made getting in the bed so much easier. I only have two complaints. One is that my license plate doesn't fit with the aftermarket frame, so it's just the bare license plate now. The other is that the gap between the bumper and tailgate is a bit bigger now, so I'm considering a smoked LED bar or perhaps even just painting the gap black. To clarify, I'm talking about the area in yellow here:

I’m assuming you cut the stock plug off, used the plug supplied in the ARB fog light kit and spliced that into the factory wiring?
Did you scotch-loc the bumper “clearance” lights to the factory daytime running/turn signals?
It’s mounted but waiting for the plasti-dip on the hood bulge to dry then I’ll post some pics.
I really appreciate all your help!

Yep, that's exactly what I did for the fog lights.

For the clearance/turn signal lights, I had to combine both sets of instructions. If I recall correctly, pay attention to the parts where is says "TIP" and also pay attention to the color coding. Be careful wiring the clearance/turn signal lights. The lights on the bumper look like one light, but it's actually two lights wired into the one unit. So, wire the clearance lights to your clearance lights (which are a bitch to get to, high up on the outside of the body), and the turn signal lights to your turn signals. Follow the instructions!! Especially the parts that say "TIP: wordswordswords".

Thanks for the input! I think a led bar would look sweet. Maybe one connected to the reverse lights? Maybe that wouldn’t be legal.
