I just installed a 2nd Gen NSV bar in my 2018 Limited with stock LED lights and I have a slight issue:
The stock DRLs are always on now, even when I put the Tundra’s headlight switch to ‘DRL Off’

as far as I can tell everything else is working correctly. But I can no longer turn off the stock DRL lights.

Has anyone run into this or know what the issue could be? As far as I understand, the NSV bar doesn't even connect to the stock DRL connection so I'm not sure how it would interfere.

It has to do with whatever connection you made by the driver side headlight. I was blowing fuses too but i put it back to stock for now.... i still need to dig deep in there... but if that dont fix youR issues ... try going to the switch.

NSV does actually connect to stock Lights once you y off that headlight switch plug its physically connected. Since its connected to the light switch assembly a simple grounding of the cable that runs to the grommet to any metal can cause multiple issues .... im no expert ... im still dealing with my issues as well ... waiting for the weather to break in my area. @ElNopal is an expert ... he is currently helping me out on my problem. This is guy is straight up ...

That's a good point. I wasn't thinking about the connection at the steering wheel for the headlight switch. I was only thinking about the 2 wires that connect at the headlight (for the turn signal and the leveling motor). I'll do some more testing.

An expert is quite a bit generous... I “know stuff” but only because I had many errors to also work through! :)

Not sure why I had a problem the first day, but the stock DRLs are working correctly now and they do turn off when I switch them off.
That's an easy win, I'll take it!

3" leveling kit and NSV Light bar
Hey guys I am new to this Tundra thread but joined just because I came across this thread with the NSV Lightbar. I have a 2019 Tundra with the LED/DRL and installed the NSV Light bar earlier this year and followed the install instructions and everything worked and yes, I cut the blue wire! Then I took my truck into Toyota for the signal light recall and that's when everything stopped working. My driverside signal light and my tail lights were blowing fuses. So it's more so a problem with Toyota than with NSV. Toyota accidentally wired the signal lights incorrectly from the factory. From 2018 to 2020 I think. They were not using the Blue wire, in fact, the Blue wire was acting like an open wire. That's why NSV told us to cut the wire. But the recall rewires it correctly and the Blue wire is now used and is important. So I replaced my tail light fused and removed the T- harness altogether. It works! not sure why the T-harness is needed anyways. My lightbar works with all the functionality. So, try just removing the T-harness all together before taking it to the dealership for the re-call fix and you wont have any issues.

Re pin factory plug to look like this ... plug this to NSV T harness then reverse T Harness of the plug to lights to how the factory plug was. Problem solved ... good luck . 526FB187-D68E-4F22-8F5E-AFF21FB33A89.jpg

Why is the T-Harness even needed? My NSV Light bar works without plugging it in.

Im not sure but they dont give you parts that you will not need. I also have 2019 and had the same issue. Mine worked for about a week then started blowing fuse.

The nsv harness is meant to work with the original factory wiring. If the dealership fixes the wiring at the factory plug, this alters the nsv cabling, Blown tail light fuses and other issues. Leave your wiring as factory or make the 28w pin correction on the nsv plug to the turn signal.

I talked with a NSV product engineer who sent me a video and showed me to swap the white pin connectors with the blue connectors on the harness. Your right, dealership altered the cabling which is causing electrical problems. NSV should as a courtesy send everyone out a re wired harness.

Another update. I rewired my harness according to the video. Put everything back together and tested it. I noticed the drivers side signal light was on when the lights were on but not the passenger side. Talked with Jensen and he told me to short out the blue wire going to that light. The instructions have us cutting it but he said to just remove it from the harness and tape it off. I did that and now everything is working back to normal!

Well I’m glad I just read about the recall I have an app on the 6th and I had asked about that with NSV light bar and was kinda not feeling it was just gone do myself instead it easy but blinker don’t even bother me at all! I love my NSV light bar. It works perfect looks good I ain’t letting Toyota touch NOTHING don’t want anything gone wrong. Careless about that blinker recall! Blue wire is cut ima leave it just like that... works just fine! NSV light bar Working properly over brighter blinkers all day LOL

Is there an extraction tool available that can be used for "unpinning" to be able to re-pin these connectors?

    Thanks,
I just ordered the set of 96. I'll post pictures of my interior console layout when done - I moved the spare 12V socket (cig lighter) to the left above where the button is for setting tire pressure. Still having to route the wires into the new panel. I rearranged the red switches so that my front camera occupies the left-most opening. The swipe function works when using remote lock/unlock but nothing else. Will be tying the red and blue wires to the back of the 12v socket connection. Hope that will enable the rest of the lightbar functions.

A couple more questions if you do not mind:

I am having a very difficult time feeding the switch panel harness from under/behind the steering wheel area of the dash into the switch panel cavity for making my final connections. Is there a tip, photo or video showing the exact entryway to use? I have taped the harness to a wire fish but cannot get the harness through.

Also, the swipe function works after pressing the remote for door unlock or lock, but the drl or brights with the headlights do not come on. Do I need to connect the 12V power with the "T-Taps" for the other features to work?

    Thanks,

    Dan Casey

Connecting the "T-Taps" was what I needed. I used a 1/2" ID #10/3 power cable as a fish by fishing it first to "make a hole" followed by the harness taped to a single conductor of the cable and finally pushed it through with needle nose pliers after it got stuck again, but that took care of it. I moved the old cig lighter socket to the lower dash to the right of the steering wheel. I had to make a small harness for it to reach the terminals inside the switch panel area and then crimped the "T-Taps" to the red 12V wire going to the new location. I had to remove the headlight, front grill and battery for enough room to make my connections. Still, I'm glad I did it instead of paying someone else. It is very busy where I have all these harnesses and it needs to be done securely so I don't have to do any more to it. See photos.

BTW, can anyone share light on what the unknown connector is for? See bottom photo. The one I know about is for tire pressure set switch, but the other shown in the foreground is a mystery.
