Took the fender flares off in prep of some up coming paint work.

how do I re-attach these? Some 3m two sided tape? That little gray rubber seal that came on them is toast

3M double sided tape would be a good choice , I think most manufacturers use that anyway .

Unless it's insanely expensive I would buy a new seal. Also, are there not a series of plastic clips that pop back in? You may have to replace some of those. I would also put a coat of wax on that area before covering it back up but I'm anal like that.

There should be square holes in the body where the fenders sit. They sell the plastic clips on Amazon. You'll need the red ones and the blue ones, they are two different sizes. I do believe it's 6 clips on each fender and 2 screws. No need for tape.

I recently had my drivers side bed repaired on my 2006 DC Limited due to a deer hit. The body shop replaced the wheel flare pad (part # 61783-0C030-C0) and installed the flare using new wheel flare clips (part # 90904-67036 )

So the flares on mine were held on by the blue and red clips, plus several screws inside the fender well and that grayish seal

I’m having trouble finding just the seal. That seal peeled off like it was some kind of tape, that’s why I was thinking 3m

neverMind, found it with the part #’s linked above
    Thanks  @weadjust

Appreciate the info fellas: trying to get everything lined out on the ole girl before she gets monstaliner applied.

Anyone ever sourced the clips locally? Stealership, O'riley?

A little thread revival, does it matter if I go back with all reds or all blues?

@BubbaW sweet, appreciate it. That post mentions you can tell from the slots on the back of the flares what goes where

Yep. Orange ones in the longer slots. Blue ones in the square slots.

Great timing for this thread to pop up. Been thinking about removing mine to Rhino-line them.

I recently did this on the front flares of my 01 AC TRD. There were 3 different plastic clips. I'm sure yours mounts different. Look on Toyota parts online and look carefully to order whatever clips or strips you need.

The manual shows something different still. But you are right. There are THREE different clips needed for the front of an 02 AC TRD, too. The familiar Red and Blue and the one in front which is more of an opaque orangey red. Have NO idea which one that is...... Hope the driver's side removes as easily....

So did you also replace the little rubber molding that goes around the flares? I am planning to replace all of mine. HOWEVER, the original ones were glued on or maybe taped on. The new ones (and I haven't confirmed it yet) seem to have NO adhesive on them at all. There does not seem to be a part associated with this either. I can't imagine trying to run a bead of glue all around my nice new paint job..... What did you do?

Do you have unpainted fender flares? Not just thin trim? If so you have what I have. Three different types of clip. And a rubber weather strip with a thin strip of double sided tape on each side. It sits between the plastic fender flare and the paint. If I get time I'll take a screenshot of the online parts catalog.

Thank you, sir! I ordered all the parts. Then after doing so, I found a few threads that talked about gluing the rubber strips back. I may have missed a post, but it sounded like they were gluing NEW parts on. Fortunately, my parts arrived and they already have adhesive on them. Now just waiting on one more set of clips! Kinda can't wait to get the gray plastic flares Raptor coated and back on, but I am sorta liking the look without the flare as well.....

Finally got it done. Never did find the third clip part number but they were the only clips not to break when I pulled the old ones off. They look a little different than the red or blue ones
