Is there a mod someone knows about to turn off the DRL fog light feature (where only the outer circle of the fog light is illuminated)? I can't seem to find anything in the forums to take care of this. The full fog light looks good when on, but who wants to ride around in the daytime with fog lights on? The outer ring only makes the truck look very dinky. Stupid even.

Can you post a picture of what you're seeing and explain how you get it to do that? Mine only has fogs on or off; I'm not seeing this outer ring.

This is what I get with DRLs on, fog lights off.

Must be unique to that XSP package? Mine definitely doesn't have that.

Looks like it is just an XSP thing. So weird they'd fool with that on a regional package.

I wonder if you could buy the stock fog lights and swap them out.

That was a pretty dumb idea on Toyota's part.
I think people that run their fogs at night in clear weather are goofy.
Running them during the day, I can understand your concern.

You could get behind the light and cut the wires that feeds the DRLs.
Maybe even find a feed under the dash and place a switch in line to turn them on and off.
But the dealer would probably give you sh!te whenever you have it in for service.

My 2005 had a plug next to the battery that fed the DRLs, there were the actually dimmed down headlights.
I kept it unplugged, but every time I had it in for service they would plug it back in.
They said they had to plug them in and having working for some reason.

Since you have the fender flares (that give a rugged look) you might opt to replace your fogs for a pair of Rigids.
There is a mod that uses TRD Pro bezels and you mount Rigids in them.
I did it for my 2014..

I still have DRLs that are my turn signals on my 2014.
I like them, they match up with my grille and Rigid pod LEDs
I'm not sure if removing DRLs are part of any inspection or requirements if you remove them.

I agree, stupid idea and I hate it. I like your idea of cutting the DRL wire to them. Any idea where I can find which wire it is?

Your Rigids look great btw, I will add it to my future mod list when wife approves more expenditures :anonymous:
