Back when I had hot rods and did a lot of restoration I used por15. With anything you choose get as much rust off as you can- grind, sand, wire brush and then clean with something like brake cleaner, follow up with a good wash. Dry fully before starting any treatment.

+1 for POR15. Used it on my 68 GTO when I refurb'd it.

On past projects I've used phosphoric acid based cleaners to neutralize rust and then coated with chassis saver/por15/eastwood type encapsulating products with good success.

I had good luck with Permatex Rust Treatment , which I picked up at Napa.

All the advice here is pretty good. Prep the area to be treated and spray this stuff on. It turns the rust black during conversion, and creates an ideal surface for priming and painting.

Anyone try Opsho? A couple other rust repair threads on the 2nd gen forum it's been mentioned. I bought some and am planning to use it to fix my bed this weekend.

My Tundra has minor rust about the frame and other hardware. Im going to kill it before it gets worse. I think being around the beach out here has been the cause. Thanks again.\ for the info- gonna order Corroseal and try that first.
