Here's a curve ball ..... My fellow Canadians might appreciate this but Petro Canada Brand Supreme Synthetic is a very under rated oil .. lots of people claim it's great quality group 3 from VOA's .

Schaeffers supreme 9000 0w20 full syn. Just did an oil change today, sending the sample to Blackstone tomorrow. Will make a thread and post results.

I may as well starting calling it Frank's. Cause I put that shit in everything! (Except the transfer case :()

    I don't understand this post.
This is a Toyota Tundra. I thought it goes, and goes and you didn't have to ever change the oil. :welder:

Nah...Maybe you're looking at my international telephone number. :D:spy:

A new member posted this video with his first post yesterday. (@drkbrent , you're going to fit right in here. :D) I thought it was pretty "cheeky" of @drkbrent to attempt destruction of a hundred years of marketing with a single video. :D

Now, I have this nagging doubt that maybe Ryan Stark (Blackstone Labs) ought to know what he's talking about. But, I just can't bring myself to not throw money at my "baby". Since I know nothing about motor oil, I MUST pay more to someone with more "knowledge"...Surely, they're not taking my money and misrepresenting their product as the "best" for profit?!

Touring that oil blending facility back in ‘99 was one of the most interesting days of my life! Admitting I had been 100% wrong about something sucked!! But it taught me a great lesson!!

I use Mobil 1. I typically get the Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy or Mobil 1 High Mileage or Mobil 1 Annual Protection. It depends on what is on sale. I also stock up only when Mobil 1 has rebates. I always get my rebates back and 5 qt jug after rebate cost me like 12.50$.

I have also tried Castrol GTX Magnatec 0W-20. It really does not matter to me as long as it is Full Synthetic and 0W-20.

I have read in other forums, where if the engine is burning oil than go with 5W-20 or 5W-30. My two cents.

I like all of these brands of oil so I’m using them all during my oil change! (Various on-sale jugs and leftovers)

Warren makes many private label brands including Amazon, Costco, and Walmart. It’s perfectly good oil.

What about 0w20 mixed with Lucas pure synthetic stabilizer .... Now that's a winning formula .

Mobil 1 0-30 has been the oil that my truck has liked the most. My butt dyno doesn’t lie.
The truck is super quiet, smooth a silk. No valve-train rattle when stomping on it passed 6k just smooth pull felt from 0-6000 rpm. Gas mileage still 15 city 17-18.5 highway 70 mph
    Cheap too.

Any proper API certified oil of proper weight will do fine, therefore either of your choices are good. I've found no discernable difference in performance in the 5.7 with several different brands. They key is to change it regularly/on schedule.

Out of curiosity, what was your average speed on this trip? I've only seen 18+ mpg when my speed is constant and below 70.

    I changed the oil
    —at 500mi (Mobil1 0w-20 Adv Fuel Econ),
—at 3k (same Mobil1, I wanted to get through what I had left in the garage), and
    —at 10k (Amsoil Signature).

I’m now at 13k miles, and my engine is significantly quieter with the Amsoil. Many oils (even cheap ones) are just fine. I enjoy Amsoil fluids in pretty much everything.

I'm also in the Amsoil boat. 0-20 for my '15. I may be imagining things, but it seemed like the engine got quieter and my gas mileage increased.

(I just got the truck .... who knows what was in there before!)
