I put an exhaust on about a month ago. I’m getting noticeably worse gas mileage, I can smell gas when I start it up like it’s letting out gas that’s unused. I have 3 exhaust leaks that I plan on welding tomorrow. I don’t know why I’m getting the gas smell. Is it the computers not adjusting to the new system. Is it the leaks? Any help is greatly appreciated

Might have bumped a hose loose up near the Gas Canister during the install. Mine fell off over time about 8 years ago just from driving. I could smell it. Popped the hood and jiggled some connections to investigate and it was a tired hose tip that slipped off.

Cut the small tired end piece off and reconnected for the win and still holding.

Side Note: I’m seeing quite a few recently installed ‘New Exhaust Systems’ having problems around here. Was yours professionally installed?

That will definitely mess with the way the truck runs. Bad O2 sensors will make the truck run rich, thinking it's still not up to operating temperature. That may be the fuel smell you are experiencing

O2 possibly damaged during swap over. Maybe not plugged in properly. Etc.
