Good morning everyone, I just found out last night my got her vacation approved. We are leaving Houston for the Black Hills of SD next Friday. Well I in need to put front brakes and new shocks on before the trip and need some advice mostly on the brakes.
My truck has 111xxx miles on it in great condition except the brakes and shocks are worn. I’d really and I mean Really like to get new brakes and shocks installed before we leave. Most important is the brakes....
The brakes are original rotors that were turned at 75,000 miles with new Toyota pads. I’m thinking of just getting OEM Toyota rotors and pads, I can get the rotors for $93 each and pads for about $105 from my local dealer and do it myself or pay $593 to have it installed. Or I found some Powerstop on Amazon drilled and slotted with z23 pads for 198 delivery on Monday and I can install before the weekend. Also I’m looking around for some 6112/5160 to install before we leave. I got with Darren at Boss to see if he can get me a kit delivery on Tuesday. Fingers crossed.....

    Alot of them
Don't go with PowerStop or their drilled and slotted. They are known to cause pulsation. I had that issue with mine. I went with StopTech Sport cryo treated slotted rotors. Do the live chat with AutoAnything and ask for their best price and they will give you a discount.

I've been happy using Akebono Ceramic Pads on all my vehicles.

Thanks guys, I’ve been Getting Leary of the Powerstop kits, as you said a lot of folks have complained about them.
I called around and think I’ll get Toyota OEM rotors and pads. I just got off the phone with Darren at Boss Off-road and he’s FRACKING AMAZING!!!! I got 6112 assembled at 1.9 and 5160 shipped to me with Tuesday delivery for a Smoking Great deal. Have an appointment on Wednesday at my shop to get installed and alignment..... I’m so stoked for this trip now!!!!!!!! I can’t wait!!!!
