Sunday August 16th found out i didnt have any oil in my engine. Put 2 quarts in the next day then got a oil change and put oil in on thursday. Check engine light is still on and its August 23rd. Engine can rev up fast, have to increase speed slowly. There is a shaking in the engine when i turn on the AC and drice or when im in reverse or when i go from park to drive and put my foot on the pedal. Can somebody please help me and tell me what the/this proboem is? Going to a shop to have test done tomorrow but any help is GREATLY appreciated.

Worst case, the main bearing(s) are wiped and hastening toward catastrophic failure as you drive it. Best case, the oil pump failed during the low oil level episode and you have near zero oil pressure, which will imminently result in wiped bearings, catastrophic failure, etc. If you had done the oil change yourself, you could have strained the drained oil to look for any bearing metal debris.

How many miles on your truck? It was probably time. I suspect your best bet will be to replace the engine with a "lower-mileage" junk yard donor.

Sorry for late reply. My spark plugs are miss firing, no.4 & no.7. In the process of getting them changed. Something concerns me, the mechanic said if this dosent work then I have to change the coil. What coil? Pretty s.art guy your talking too so try your best to explain it. Will bring back results later.

Whoa, I missed the heck out of this one, but I'm happy to be wrong.

With the truck being 2 quarts low, apparently still needing oil, and the check engine light being on, I figured you had near zero oil pressure. Congratulations on a cheap fix, even if you will have to replace the coils.

Coils and plugs are common on this trucks so nothing to worry about. Make sure to use the proper NGK plug and OEM coil is budget allows it.

When you added the two quarts, did that bring the level up to full on the dipstick?

    "The" coil? Who's your "mechanic?"
