New to the forum but wanted to get some opinions. Just bought a new 2020 tundra and have about 700 miles on it. There seems to be a pop coming from the front end of the truck when accelerating after starting the truck. It only occurs after starting the truck and putting it in drive. At around 5 mph. Once it makes the sound (which can be felt slightly in the pedal) it doesn’t do it again unless the truck is turned off. Went back to the dealership and was told that this was normal and that 90% of the Toyota trucks do this and there is nothing to be worried about. My 14’ tundra didn’t do it for the 200000 miles I put on it.

Abs self check. 100% normal. You’re feeling the actuator cycling through its check and it is located on drive side firewall. This is why you feel it through the pedal too

Thanks for posting this. I am coming out of a 2nd gen and into a 2020....I pick it up today. Seems like ill notice some changes going from a 2013 to a 2020, especially moving from a 4.6 to the 5.7 :D

You’ll also notice changes like CarPlay and push button start, which creates some jealousy on pre 20s.

Yeah I knew about the Carplay and Android auto. The SR5 does not have push button start. It starts with the Limited models. Its funny how Toyota took certain things out like grab handles and electric sliding window. I dont know why they thought manual was a good idea. I'm taking the handles from my 13 and moving them over.

ABS self check - my 2019 does it every time at the same spot rolling out of the driveway. I have wireless Apple CarPlay and love it with my Kenwood HU!

Regular SR5 never came with a skid plate. It’s part of the TRD package.

    ... goes the Weasel.

The doors automatically lock on my '07 when forward speed hits about 12 mph, this produces a pop sound.

Yeah, mine didn’t have push button start. Lol. Maybe I had to buy an expensive package above the SR5. Lol

I’m with you. That why I said some jealously and not that I was jealous. Although sometimes I would like CarPlay.

Just came across this post and I have a SR5 with push start. I think there's an option to get it with the SR5. I believe you have to get the TRD package because my truck also has the black LED headlights.
