    Hello all!

new here, looking for some advice on upgrading my exhaust on a new 2020 Tundra SR5. My last was a 2009 SR5 that I true dualed with flowmaster super 40’s, absolutely loved the sound. Kinda looking not to spend as much this time around and thinking of just replacing the muffler with a super 40. Just really miss that aggressive sound. I’m not concerned with adding performance or hp, just want that sound. Would Ibe disappointed just swapping the muffler..?

    Been there, done that..
Pulled it and had them reweld the end pipe to install my BAM.
They did such a crappy job I bought a new tailpipe..

Thanks for the replies! I’ll have to do my homework on the bam system and dirty deeds, I’ve never heard of them but am also not very experienced with exhaust systems.

Can I ask what kind of difference the resonator makes?

I just noticed you just joined, welcome to the forum.
You'll find many on this forum that run and love our BAM systems.

    https://www.tundras.com/search/3399836/?q=bam+muffler&t=post&o=date

I've only known one member that didn't like his BAM.
His wife said it was too loud and now he has it for sale.

I had an 8" for 3 years, always felt is was a tad loud for this old man.
So I swapped it for a 10" and I'm more than happy with it now.
@dirtydeeds swapped it out for me, I just had to pay shipping to me for the new one and back to him for the old one.

The helmholtz resonator will reduce the drone, but may cut the loudness out a little.
Some guys say it reduced drone for them, but it sounds the same.

The BAM system with the resonator doesn't have much drone, but the rez just about eliminates it.
I think my stock system had a little more drone that my current setup of the 10" with the rez.
I have a touch of drone between 1.5K and 2K, bit can't hear it if the radio is playing.
It is nothing like that video posted above, that drone is unacceptable to me.
At 60+ mph on the highway, I don't hear it all.

I had a magnaflow catback system on my 2005 4.6 and was barely louder than stock.

I had that 2 in 1 out muffler pictured above installed when I bought my 2014 5.7.
I didn't really research it enough before doing it.
It sounded great in the city.
But that muffler had the drone from hell on the highway, to the point is made me nauseous.

I then found @dirtydeeds and called him about the problem.
He suggest I try his helmholtz resonator with what I had and see what happens.
I bought it and installed it.
It killed ALL of that drone, but made it sound stock again.
So I bought his 8 inch system and ran it for 3 years until I swapped it for a 10.

Thank you for all the info! Seems dirty deeds is the standard here! I talked to Keith and ordered mine, can’t wait!
