Found these on eBay for $8. Works like a charm. Aggravating when you’re in town going from store to store and having the chime going crazy without your belt on. I also have a 3/10th mile long driveway. No more putting a belt on just to go get the mail. Well worth the money and didn’t have to modify the seat latch sensor like some people do.

For $12 you can acquire a OB2 reader and then get the app Car Scan...I opted for the pro version of $3.99 and it allows one to toggle all seat belt chimes off as well as some lighting and HVAC control options...it's a better version of what I've seen for myself...

Can you recommend a specific OB2 reader or are they all the same..

Got a link for it? Does it leave it turned off even if the OB2 module isn’t plugged in? Would much rather go that route than what I’m using.

Haha, you "should" be able to use any 8f them...look at the car scanner app and they have several to choose from that they claim work best with their product...I took a chance but it works great! Tho, Android-based...

That's hilarious but very clever. I would be concerned about a non-listed Chinese product in a life threatening situation though

Darn. It only works on Android devices. I’ll have to find one for my iPhone.

I’m not too worried about it. It’s very well made seems like. Even if it would break on a hard impact the air bags are going to already done been inflated by the time it would break.

Nice simple fix. You can also you TechStream to turn it off, costs a bit more but can also be used to program keys and do other stuff you cannot do with a normal OBDII reader. Does require you to setup software on a laptop though. Need to find a reputable seller on Amazon that will email you the activation code for the software once you set it up.

get the seat belt extender from the dealer, they're free due to "safety". They're available in 8", 10", and 12" lengths if I remember correctly. Tell them it's needed for a car seat, or very fat uncle.

My dealer did charge me a $4.95 shipping fee. I think I got the 12", but it really doesn't matter.

The dealer will require a VIN.

I turned mine off with Techstream.
    Also did it on a 16 Corolla, 16 4runner, 18 Tacoma and a buddys 19 Tundra.

Doesn't it turn off automatically after a certain amount of time?

It does on my 07 but it takes about a minute and the chime frequency increases until it stops

Carista . And you can use it to flash the turn signals more for a lane change or unlock both doors at once and a few other things. The ding is really annoying in some situations Like w0rk when you drive a foot or 2 at a time. Try owning a new Subaru or a Denali duramax (the Denali also seat vibrates)they are constantly dinging chirping etc. The Subaru dinging never turns off.

    Coming soon.
I bought the suggested OBD device and downloaded Car Scanner Pro. I could not find "Car Scan Pro". Anyway, I do not see where in the Car Scanner Pro app you can turn off seat belt chime. Can anyone enlighten me where it is?
