What is the problem? I have 2020 headlights on my 2015...does this affect me or just those with the newer trucks?

You should be fine having a 2015 I believe anyways. The issue is the wiring harness not the headlights

Performed the wiring swap recall on my own ...took 15minutes. Results were the opposite . Lights got dimmer .... Had to put the wiring back to the way it was originally .

Anyone already fix the issue themself and bring your Tundra to the dealership to have the VIN removed from the recall list? I did it myself and just want to have my VIN "cleared" from the recall.

I had a Dodge CTD 4x4 that had a recall for the fuel tank sucking in water from a recess on the fuel tank that had a vent in it, the Dodge group came up with a fix of adding some tubing (something like the rear axle vent mod on Tundra). Dodge eventually recalled the trucks after eating some injector pumps. On my truck, they had a tech come out and verify my fix, the recall was marked done, and I went on my way with a receipt showing the recall was preformed.

I checked my VIN and I'm not part of the recall. Mine are very bright.

Does anyone know if all 2019's come with LED headlights, or is it just in certain packages?

Not all Tundras come with LED lights. What package do you have?

If it was an SR5 without the OEM LED, that would be because they’re set up correctly from the factory. This issue is ONLY on the OEM LED headlights.

Yeah, @jordoncloutier it looks like you have the non-LED headlights from your avatar. You shouldn't swap wires on those, if that's the case.

Makes sense ... I wasn't aware this recall was only for higher trim level trucks .

I just took my truck in to get the oil changed. And the female employee at the desk next to my service guy heard me and him talking about the blinker. I told him I already fix the problem my self by swapping the wires. She butts in saying thats not a recall fix you need a special tool to fix. I told her again that I check and they are brighter. She continued to argue with me that it's not a fix you need a special tool...She was all kinds of special.

I may have you beat on that one. I did the repair myself. About six weeks ago I took the truck to my local dealership to have the VIN cleared from the recall. The SERVICE WRITER told me that the recall involves installing a whole new harness!! After about an hour of going back and forth, a technician looked at the truck and the VIN has been cleared from the recall list. I have no idea who is training the employees! You would think that a service writer would be aware of what the recall entails.....

Yes, I should have had it with me. I was thinking the same thing while I was there speaking with the knucklehead. However, you would think that a service writer would be aware of the recall procedure. If he wasn't, all he has to do is obtain the document himself.

Took mine in for the free oil change and the recall. I figured they replaced the harness because it took them 4 1/2 hours... To be fair, they didn't tell me the recall would take so long when they scheduled the oil change. Thank God I brought my iPad.
