I'm an idiot, I can't remove T10 dome bulbs in my 2006 Double Cab

It's nearly impossible to get a grip on these tiny T10 bulbs.

I've tried a trick someone showed on YouTube by using a zip tie to cinch on it, and pull it out but it still slips off. I've even tried to use silicone tubing that I managed to get onto the bulb, but it slips off. Arrgggh!!!!

Has anyone been able to do this easily? There's a tool on Amazon for this, which I don't care to buy...

Clearly, your truck is permanently broken. Please sign the title over to me as soon as possible and I'll, er, dispose of it in a slow, fun, friendly, slightly darker with one less bulb sort of way.

Try putting masking tape on a needle nose. Make sure the tape is backwards where the sticky will be touching the bulb.

If I recall correctly, my 2004 DC has 2 map lights and 2 rear dome lights that were T10. If you are working on those locations, my suggestion after trying multiple suggestions is to take the unit/s completely down to remove bulb socket and all(eazy peezy). Slightly more time but some of us have that time along with a bucket of patience....YMMV !

    I would not be defeated.

Grabbed some duct tape, wrapped it well around the bulb, then yanked straight down.

    Bam!

Its real easy to take off those reflective backing covers and then you can pull the bulbs out to.

Cig lighter one was the absolute worst!!! Glove box and ashtray ones were annoying, but more tedious than anything else. Cigarette lighter bulb was just straight up a nightmare.

I used packing tape. Make sure bulb
Isn’t hot. Roll it up like you’re about to pack a joint. Get it as far up the bulb as you can and seal the tape as much as possible and yank. Just like the duct tape guy. I just prefer packing tape.

Did my dome/map/door lights tonight, and I found that needle nose pliers in conjunction with a microfiber cloth wrapped around the bulb worked good and didn't crack any of the bulbs. Just be gentle and wiggle it out.

Removing the T10 bulbs is no joke. lol. I didn't want to buy the tool on Amazon either. I watched a YouTube video on using tape around the bulb. I tried painters tape, electrical, and furnace duct tape with no luck. So finally I used to small zip ties with the tails opposite of one another and wiggled it out. Was a pain, but I got it done.

I managed to crush mine with pliers, and then used a pick to get the bases out. I like the tape idea much better. :-/

I used the duct tape trick on my cargo light bulbs and it worked great.
