Installed the replacement relay today (temp was a balmy 34º). All functions work correctly as advertised.
The only difference I noticed was that now the first click turns the DRLs on whereas before, the first click would turn the DRLs off. Starting the truck turns them on as before. Amber turns unaffected by the relay install. Operate the same as before I replaced the relay.

I have had my Morimoto XB LED's installed for quite a while now. This morning I was driving to work and it was the first time I used the High Beams for any length of time (turned them on when installed to make sure they worked is all) and when I turned them off I got this on the dash
    Dash.jpg

No freaking idea what happened now. I will pull codes tonight when I get home and clear this to see if it happens again. Love the lights but what a pain in the balls

I had an issue where there would be days that my truck would not start from sitting overnight or even after getting gas. The airbag, traction control and 4h/4l lights would flash on the dash and the Starter would turn over but it would never start. I unplugged the DRL tap and plugged it back in and most of the time it would work. The other day (3/4/20) on my way to work my truck went into "limp mode"... 4h/4l lights, airbag, traction control, and engine light came on and I couldnt go past 1st gear. Pulled over, called roadside and while waiting, I tried all the fuses, checked everything else i could, and even put in an oem fuse into the IGN spot just to see if it would work and got nothing. About 45min later I tried starting the truck again and it fired right up.. with the DRL tap left hooked up.

I took it into Toyota dealer and they spent two days trying to diagnose only to tell me that the cause was the wire tap into the IGN fuse spot for the DRL. They pulled the tap and replaced the IGN OEM fuse and sent me on my way.

Has anyone else had the tap cause this? What was the work around to get the DRL's to still be functional?

I have a 2017 Tundra Pro CM that had OEM halogen headlights.

For anyone who has reported this issue with their XB LED headlights, Morimoto believes to have found a solution for this issue!

Please send an email to Morimoto directly and put "ATTN:Travis - 14+ Tundra XB High Beam Issue" in the subject so they can set you up with the needed harness.

Well I bought these lights from Headlight Revolution and both the drivers side and now the passenger side have both developed heavy condensation. These lights were installed only a few months ago.

HR replaced the driver's side light but no sooner than I did replace the light this week, the passenger side showed moisture. Now I need to contact HR AGAIN for a replacement of the passenger side. And it's not just a little bit of moisture, pretty much the entire face of the lenses is covered. Even my DIY projector retrofits didnt develop this amount of moisture and I only got it in one headlight.

Needless to say I'm pretty disappointed with the quality control considering Morimoto is considered a reputable brand, as I've run their HID bulbs/ballasts in my projector set up these lights replaced, and considering the cost of these assemblies.

It is too bad because these lights look and perform fantastic, as good as any OEM light (minus the moisture intrusion) and the fitment is superb.

That is insane to hear about man, I apologize for the poor experience with these! You're the first report I've personally heard of with condensation issues, I'll be sure to pass word up regarding this issue!

Please email us on this and we'll get you a replacement setup on the way, you are covered with the 5-Year warranty!

I already emailed support yesterday so HR is well aware, but I guess not everyone was told when I first contacted HR a month ago about the drivers side. There is a chain of emails regarding the replacement/return of the driver's side going back a few weeks.

I'd say one headlight is an anamoloy, two headlights failing within weeks of each other is a problem. But maybe just a bad batch/set? Let's hope so!

There were condensation issues reported when the first wave of lights that went out in the group buys, this is not the first.

I'll be sure to take a peek into our inventory and see if we can inspect the seals on the current sets to make sure they all look good. If there's an issue, we'll find and handle it!

Thank you for the follow up.

They broke up a set to send me a replacement, let's hope the replacement was carefully inspected. I suspect you all will be sending me the other one now.

And let me just say, Headlight Revolution handled the issue right away. A new headlight was sent out promptly (had to pay $350 deposit until they get the old headlight). They sent a return shipping label so from that standpoint HR is doing all of the right things to address my issue. Just annoying to have to reinstall these things is all.

Hopefully this is not a more wide spread issue.

Has anyone noticed the daytime running light part of the headlights doing odd things? Once in a while when I disengage the e brake they will flash. And when I turn on just the parking lights, (the first detent on the headlight switch), I get no lights at all. If I turn off the headlights the daytine running lights come on, and when they are full on they come on along with the headlights.

I have the same problem with my 2021 tundra platinum atm. I’m going in to see the dealership in a week to see if they can fix the problem. After the dealership installed the xb led morimoto headlights a week later my tailgate running late stop working dues to blown fused. They couldn’t do anything for me so I went to cap it for them to help me. The problem was fixed but then another problem show up. New problem is pre collision system malfunction on my dashboard right now.

If you have halogens now you will be good. There was an issue with a harness initially for the trucks that came with Leds. I have the XB's on my 2020 and have no issues at all.

I had no issues at all for 10 months then the stupid headlight failure problem. Pain in the ass, about 1 minute after starting it the error message comes on the dash with a loud beep and stays the entire time you drive. I also seen that when this happens it turns the headlights on at all times. I have a Platinum with auto headlights and as soon as the auto headlight feature does it's thing when starting is when it fails and the messages pop up

I sure would like LED headlights but there is no way I would go through any of this mess. Halogen is cool with me. So many threads about issues installing LED lights in Tundras, headlights, or interior. It is just not worth the risk and hassle to me.

I never had an issue with anything on my 2018 until the XB’s were installed but the problem did not surface until 10 months later which is strange. Although I did go through I think it was 2 months of diagnosing the install until it was error free. Then nothing changed and all of a sudden I turn my brights on and boom, error message

My 2020 had halogens before the XB's. I have flashed the high beams but haven't used them for any amount of time.

Exactly, that is all I did was flash them because I seen something run across the highway in front of me and it was a coyote. Then boom, error
