...side bar Charlie, @PennSilverTaco, I recently bought from Red Box the movie " The Night Clerk". Have you seen it? I thought it was pretty good. The main character has ass burgers. The actor playing the part doesn't have ass burgers but I thought he did well. I have have no clue how accurate the actor portrayed the part. Just curious if you had a chance to see it.

Asperger's syndrome for the members that haven't followed Charlies great input and adventures here on this forum.....before anyone gets excited, Charlie himself has used the term ass burgers so I meant no offense.

I second this and would put my cover up against a diamondback any day (bold claim.. I know). But truck covers USA is where it’s at. Don’t see a cover like this every day

Nice....but can you load up two snowmobiles on top or a decent sized ATV like you can do with a Diamondback????

I’d do one ATV with confidence. Crewmax bed is kinda short at 5.6 for a snowmobile dont you think? Cover is rated for 500lbs. I stand on the cover with minimal sagging and that’s all 205lb concentrated in a 11” circle. I could also just open up my cover and load them in the bed if I wanted to. People might say then you’re losing storage.. true. But I also have a ladder rack setup so could have the ATV in the bed and a Yakima rocketbox, or even a RTT, above the ATV. I dunno; I like it..

Kuul, but you'd be surprised what folks did with even a CMax Tunny up in Alaska with a Diamondback. Don't you think?

Alaska is all about pushing the envelope....with everything....just sayin.
So many folks up there rely on their "snow machines". Lots of Diamondbacks up there for good reason. Can handle the extreme. I saw a lot of crazy ass stuff up there. A lot different than the lower 48.

Sorry... more shameless whoring for Diamondback from me. I have the SE and a crossbin. Makes me smile everyday.

How much whoring weight can Diamondbacks handle? It's true, I'd see 2 snow mobiles parked up top sometimes and like I mentioned the occasional big ass ATV up in AK. I was frankly stunned when I saw that.

You can load the HD’s up with quite a bit of weight, for sure. My SE will hold 400, and I can’t think of anything I’d need to load up there that would exceed that.

I'm very happy with my Retrax MX pro. It has a matte finish that blends really well with the rest of the truck. Its also very strong and can support 500lbs, I've set an extension ladder off of it to reach a high point on my roof that was just out of reach. It doesn't look as rugged as covers like the Diamondback but I like the sleek look. Despite its sleek appearance it actually weighs more than the diamondback, this thing is solid. Best part is that it easily rolls back to move large items on the fly. Example: my mom called me yesterday and asked if I could pick up a large oak table and 6 chairs from my Grandmas place. I was already on my way home so it was as simple as sliding it back and loading in the table. Some covers don't offer this

    Edit* its also rain tight.

Off of Diamond's site....."Haul up to 1,600 lbs. on top". Of course it depends on what your truck can handle. Like I said, I saw some crazy things loaded on top of these Diamondbacks up in AK. I did see two Snow mobiles on top of a Diamondback. Numerous times. Like i said I wish I could afford one.

For a single ATV I’m still saying retractable tonneau with the LA guard dog. I had to lock up my brakes once pretty good with it and didn’t have an issue. Just another option

    A bunch
One huge plus for the DB over any other cover for us in cold climates is getting the tailgate open when it freezes. DB has the handles to help with breaking the ice after hitting it with my hand or ice scraper. With both tri-folds and retractables I've had situations where the tailgate is frozen to the cover and had to pry the seal from the tailgate.

I'd go with the Diamond back HD. Cover is rated for 1600 pounds. You have easy access at the tailgate and at the cab.

I bought a bakflip 2, but once I saw how easy it was to get access to the bed, it went back. Didn't even make it out of the box.

More expensive and had to wait a bit for it after ordering......but the low profile locking fiberglass cover by ARE is what I have. Had used Leer in the past for other trucks and probably would have done the same for the Tundra but that place was still Covid closed.

The new ARE seems to be a great fit so far. They matched the paint spot on.

I love my Peragon folding bed cover. I wanted something that would hold up better than a soft cover but didn't want to pay the price of a Diamond Back and at $700 with all the bells and whistles that Peragon offers, I though it was the perfect medium. It basically acts like a hybrid between a roll-up cover and a tri-fold as it has a gas shock in the front that pushes the cover into place when you pull it out and when you want to push it in, it doesn't offer mush resistance. It has taken some getting used to but I have 99% access to my bed where as most tri-fold guys will lose either their back window or 1/3 of their bed, plus I just couldn't get over Diamond Back's weird open at front and the back thing they got going on (no hate I would have one if I could afford it). As far as it holding up, I live in West Texas and the fine dirt roads are worse than rain and so far my bed has stayed clean, as far as the few heavy rains it has also kept the water out sooooo it works for me. Best part is that it's American Made and they have a sale like every other month. I don't have any pictures but when I do, I will post them. (I am in the middle of installing a Move weld-it-yourself bumper) Biggest piece of advice, which ever cover you go with, take the time to install bed lights if they already didn't come with the truck. I just finished installing some LED bed lights and I absolutely love them, I honestly don't know how I got away without them.

I've been going to the Carlisle Truck Nationals since 2012, and every consecutive year since 2016; I was gonna go to Ireland with family this year (was supposed to leave tomorrow), but COVID-19 brought those plans to a screeching halt. So, I'm making my annual pilgrimage to the Truck Nationals (8 days from now) like I always do.

A while ago (I'm thinking August or September of last year), another member recognized their 3rd Gen Tundra in pictures that I took at the 2019 Truck Nationals and invited me to park alongside them at the Truck Nationals this year; I forget the details of the Tundy (possibly a white SR or really basic SR5) they were from Virginia. This person may have in fact been on TacomaWorld, and I will be posting this same thread there too...

Anyway, I've searched the whole site for this exchange and can't find anything. PLEASE HELP!

Well that’s the best walking beach to go to! I saw the other truck with surfboards so I was guessing surfing or walking. Either way, beautiful hidden beach.
