I am trying to figure out and hopefully eliminate the cause of a plastic snapping sound that seems to happen more when the temp is low. It seems to come from the top of the dash area on passenger side. And overall the dash just doesn't feel solid and firmly in place.

I am trying to find out the location of the attachment points of the dash and other possible areas that could allow movement and noise. I'd like to hopefully insulate or lubricste these areas to get rid of this sound.

Does anyone have any photos of what it looks like behind the dash? This way i can try to target specific areas. I'd like to do everything possible at first without having to remove dash which could potentially lead to other issues.

    Cheers.

Most all of the creaks and noises in my dash were pass side and bottom of the A pillar trim where it meets the dash .lots of plastic and bad fitment causing all sorts of noise when its cold .Prob the 1 biggest complaint i have with my Tundra.Other wise its an awesome truck

I upgraded some of the trim on my dash this summer with parts from a Limited model. On cold mornings I now have noises on the pass side that I didn't have before the swap. I'm wondering if it's the leatherette panel rubbing the hard plastic wrong. When it warms up the sound is gone making it hard to pin point

So far i have taken the glove box and oh-shit handle trim piece off. Tried insulating a bunch of places but can't seem to get rid of the noise. Sad thing is, there are other rattles and noises aside from this.

The dealership is useless as they do more damage than anything. I am reluctant to let them remove the entire dash.

These trucks cost a lot of money and it is shameful for Toyota to build such a rattle box. My truck only has about 1000 miles on it. Should have gone with the F-150.

I traded at 18’ f150 Lariat loaded for a 19’trd Pro. I had several rattles in the dash of the f150. 10spd trans is quirky and clunky. I had several issues. Glad I made the swap. So far my Tundra is rattle free and seat are more comfy and the ride is better. I had 20’s on the Ford

For me it was the temp control panel. It’s hard to pin point noises. What I did was dis assemble what I could and then drive it. Replace 1 piece and drive it. Replace a second and drive it. Didn’t have the noise until the last piece which was the temp control unit. Good luck!

I am having the same issue. I had a noticeable creak when it was cold out this winter and the Toyota dealership I bought my Pro from replaced my pass side A pillar cover, that seemed to make creak go away. Now I have a buzzing noise coming from I think pass side in dash somewhere but I cannot pin point it.
I had to go to another Toyota for a service and they took a look...but didn't put much effort into it, the dumb service tech moved my gps farther away from driver side A pillar and said fixed...gps wasn't touching pillar in the first place. I also had him look at driver side rear seat as it squeaks when folded up on gravel roads, he said all tight no noise all good...I can just slightly move it and make it squeak...useless !!

Ive had one new & now one used Tundra, both from 2016, both have been the quietest inside the cabs for a truck. Id compare both to my father in laws 550 Mercedes Benz.
Hope you can get a remedy soon

on my 2014 CM, i have a vibration that is happening behind the dash at around 2000 (edit: 1000-1500 rpm) RPM. higher or lower revs, it goes away. tried to pinpoint it on dash/stereo/vent area...holding or jamming fingers into pieces..seems to be behind the dash. anyone else?

Recently I removed several dash panels on the face of the dashboard which enabled sight into area above glove box, passenger side a/c vent and drivers side a/c vents out let and black cover panel under the steering column, I’d had to pull wire for added on accessories. While the dash was apart I rebooted up the battery and took it for a test drive to listen for any raddles or possible creeks. Didn’t find anything.
What I learned is you can have a lot of the dash taken apart and still drive around without issues.
If your having noises pop up, you can take parts off that have no wires supplied to them and have full access to the dash. My suggestion would be have a buddy drive while you hunt for sounds raddles, and such.
Hope that helps anyone having those annoying thing happening.
    Good luck fellow Tundralights.
