Does anyone here use locking pins to secure their height adjustment on the blue ox? I worry about theft and also want to do some testing at different heights. With the amount of torque I put on these bad boys along with red loctite, I worry about removing and re-adding them more than once :). Seems like they are 3/4"? So maybe there isn't an option. Circle the bolts I'm looking at replacing.

I see no issue with taking the bolts out and reinstalling. There isn't that much stretch. I am SURE there are some pins rated for that weight that would make height adjustment easier but I wouldn't worry about repeatedly removing and reinstalling the bolts. Maybe change out the lock washers every couple of changes. Loctite is overkill. There isn't a lot of stress side-to-side. It's all front-to-back on a hitch like that. The main thing I had issues with on my Blue Ox hitch was the nut on the ball coming loose and good friggin' luck finding a socket that fits in the well of the hitch to tighten it.

Dude I went to 5 different places to find a socket. Wasn't cheap either. Didn't want to spend the money on a 3/4" drive breaker either so I got a 3/4-1/2 adapter and used my 1/2" breaker. That combined with a pipe wrench on the ball got the job done. I painted similar markers on my ball to look for rotation there. A trip over the Sierras and back and I got no movement on the ball or the height bolts. Adjustments weren't my only concern - theft too.

EDIT: to add on the ball, I think the manufacturer wanted 420lbs of torque on it....unlikely to find many people with the $1k+ setup to measure that....I just wailed on it with breaker bar, pipe wrench, and cheater pipes.

I can position the ball or accessory in any slot adjusting the height with a locking slide and just a codder pin holding it on back side.

Yeah I really like my B&W three way adjustable - I was disappointed the Blue Ox doesn't have a similar adjustment, but everything I read pointed me at this one being the one to get for weight distro and sway control.
