    So I took the plunge and tore my 2005 4.7 tundra Down and removed the starter (huge pain in the a$$!) yeah it crapped out on me like 3days after I got it. Anyway which starter do I get? The cold weather one or the regular one. I live in Florida and will probably never go where it’s cold. The cold weather one and the one that came out of the truck are a little longer than the regular one. Will it hurt anything to use the regular one? I never want to do this job again!
    Thanks in advance.

    This one is a no brainer. The Cold Spec Costs less and is better. I’m still on the original. We had a member here go from the OEM 1.4 to another 1.4 Aftermarket which pooped out within two weeks.

    Suggested the 2.0kW and he was blown by much stronger and faster starts. Check your local stealer to see if they are in the new Parts Programme which offers highly competitive OEM pricing. Pay online and pick up in person to eliminate shipping.

    I don't know anything for sure ~ you could sue me and win concerning this . . .

    I was told this by a Toyota parts man that ordered my Tundra new with the Cold Weather Package from the factory;

    The contacts in the solenoid are beefier with the CWP vs standard starter motor. It's not cold here in SoCal. either but that was his reasoning for buying what he did.

    Being a parts man I suspect he was paid to know these things ?

    Pro hand model... so is that the remanufactured oem Toyota denso starter? Any auto parts store have that? Amazon prime maybe? Or stealership only?

    Stealer only. Should be good as new, as Denso Remans with all new components. I’ll be installing a Denso Reman’d Alternator from Stealer soon.
