    Looking good!

Did you get a speedometer calibrator, if so, what brand and where? I am having a hard time tracking one. Thanks!

No speedo calibration performed...I have seen the Hypertech name dropped around the forums often. But I also think you can do this with a Bully Dog Tuner along with a lot more customability

Hypertech does not having anything for Sequoias. I will contact bullydog and see if they have compatibility. Thanks!

Have you confirmed the Tundra hypertech doesn’t work for the Sequoia? I would assume that it would work as everything in the front end is the same...

    I emailed them last night.

"At the current time we do not yet have a tire corrector completed for your vehicle application.

We do not have an estimated time frame for potential completion

I will add your info into our product request data base so you will be notified if and when we do have testing completed.

    Thank You,

    Tech"

I see Hypertech for 08-11 and 14-2020. They skipped 12-13.

I have RC/Hypertech for my 2020, but it's not backwards compatible. I also emailed yellow box to see if they can help. No response yet

So what’s your Sequoia look like?

Yellow box just responded to my email. They are 4 weeks to 2 months back. Plus shipping from Australia will take long as well.

"Will you be doing Splice installation before or after the ECM? First,
we probably should confirm if will be compatible for your requirements.

Currently deliveries are taking about a month to 2 months into the US,
probably longer into Canada. EMS Express Courier shipping upgrade can
speed up the delivery, but this is also quite slow at present, taking
up to almost a month to arrive. Standard post online tracking is longer.

    Thank you."

Yes!! Installed the Bilstein 5100s and kept the OME coils, and it is a totally different car. It handles amazing now, definitely very happy with how it has turned out. Thank you for following up!

Hello in your first post you mentioned you were going to use OME 2864 2” lift rear coils. I was looking into buying the dobinsons 1.75” but would much rather get the 2 inch. Ive searched for some and have not had any luck. The 2864 is it for a land cruiser but would work on the sequioa? Sorry just gathering information. I am trying to keep my stock trd pro suspension in the rear and adding the OME coils in rear.

these also work! There is another Sequoia running these.. not sure how your stock pro suspension will handle handle 2.5” of lift though. They may become over extended if you really try to get Offroad.

but YES, the OME coils are for the land cruiser. They work great with the Bilstein 5100s made for the sequoia. If you interested we can pull up the extended and collapsed length of the pro suspension and compare it to some other shocks to see where you’re at? I could also go measure my sequoia and see fender height from center of wheel to see how much more these coils would actually lift your sequoia’s rear end.

Could also just get some of those eBay shock mount relocation kits that push the bottom perch up an inch or so.. not the greatest solution, but would work. Think rough country also makes something similar.

Good luck! And let me know if there is anything else I can help with from what I mentioned above

No updates to the sequoia in awhile.

For those that haven’t seen, I have been very distracted playing with my truck. Got the wife’s Sequoia to a place where she is happy.. only other mods I want to do are cosmetic, pro grill, pro side steps, and some kind of aftermarket headlights.

The truck needs its own build page here soon:

thanks for all your help and willingness to help. Right now i have the 88rotors 1 inch spacer front and rear. I decided to get rid for TRD pro suspension in front and go with the Icon 2.5 coilover in front. I wanted to try and keep my Factory TRD in the rear but wanted to try and see if i could add one more inch lift with the coil spring. We will see how it goes. It took me forever to find a forum that had modified sequoias All I would find was Tacomas and Tundras.

Totally welcome! And I hear you, I really struggled as well trying to get some more info on lifting the Sequoia.. that’s really the only reason I built this page... to help anyone that wanted to also go down this route. And same reason I haven’t done a page for my Tundra, it’s just another Tundra build hahaha

Finally made those cosmetic updates, new stereo going in next week and then should be good to go again for a bit. Put in the TRD pro grill and the Alpharex lights with the Headlight Revolution LED bulbs.

    EFAD2B3B-2AB5-457D-B405-FBAB6089EC05.jpg
Grill seems like it may need to have the surround paint matched, seems a little too much, but it’s growing on me.. definitely a total upgrade from the original chrome one.

Hey, thank you! Ya they definitely came out pretty good.

This is what I ordered from Stage 3 Motorsport. They also have them with the auto levelers if you have them:

ARX880714 2007-2013 Tundra without Auto Leveling AlphaRex PRO-Series Projector Headlights Black

Thanks for that info. Good experience with that vendor? Shipping time ok? I see they have zero in stock now though.

Which lights did you swap out for the HR Leds?

The Alpharex come with Halogen Low Beams, and LED high Beams, so just pulled those halogen bulbs out and and popped the HR LEDs in.. that was a little tricky but they fit inside the housing.

They took awhile to ship, but had zero issues with the Vendor, and I think their pricing is better than many.

Hey Colin, hope you’re doing well in Texas! How do you like your sequoia? I was set on getting a Tundra but it makes more sense to get something with more than 5 seats. I need the towing for our travel trailer we picked up this spring and my 06 tundra is too underpowered.

Any issues or downfalls of it being an 08 (first production year/no mid model upgrades)?

Have not made it further into the thread so don't know if you resolved the issue but the 5100s I got for my 2013 came with these guys:

FYI, I am in the middle of a nightmare with BD. The BDX I had sitting around from my Tundra and paid them to unlock is causing 2 CEL codes rich in both banks. I asked for help in April and am still without a solution, every call is over an hour wait and every email is a few days wait.

Their attitude is suck it up.

Hey Robert! Texas has been great so far, family absolutely loves it here.

As for the ‘08 sequoia the only complaints I have are a few of the missing upgrades: Car Play or even just Bluetooth connection to phone, better back up camera, add a few USB ports for the kids in the back, and some better headlights. Most of which can be solved with a new head unit being installed and then some new headlights or even just LED bulbs.

Other than that not much changed if you were to buy newer, maybe sonar and a few other safety features got better, but it’s still a truck to me and has been great.

If course I am starting to hit the point now where the wife thinks he car looks old, so am having to do more minor cosmetic updates to keep her happy and continue to just run the truck into the ground before upgrading.

I definitely think you will be happy, biggest decision is Captain Chairs or bench for the middle row. When our kids were younger the bench was great as all were in car seats, I think now we would give up the middle seat to have easier access to the back seat, but that’s only because we still have two car seats in the middle row, which I know you aren’t dealing with still hahaha.

Best of luck on the search, hit me up if you have other questions.

Blacked out grill and wheels 2nd row bench seat middle seat removed for captains chairs Remote start
just take the middle seat out of the bench and boom you have captains chairs with the option of going back to an 8-seater. It has four bolts and can be disconnected separately. There are options on floor mats that cover the mounting brackets that will be left behind.
