I have a 01 tundra SR5 v8 4wd. I recently cleaned my air filter and shortly after I noticed my engine making a loud intake/air noise. Sounds like a leaf blower full throttle in my engine bay when I accelerate, I have never heard it do this before. Any ideas what this could be. Any suggestions would be helpful

Is the filter properly clamped in? That’s 90% of the time the issue

It’s probably clamped in yes. I also sprayed off MAF and cleaned throttle body but that was a while ago. It didn’t start doing this until after I cleaned my air filter

Take some photos around the air box if you can. Possible you knocked a hose off or something

Is it equipped with a k&n? If so, maybe it was so dirty before cleaning it that it muffled the intake noise, and now that it’s clean you can hear it.

well i cant see anything wrong here honestly. video might help... slim chance your fan clutch is stuck on now and your hearing the fan roaring to life? but that usually sounds like a 18 wheeler driving by on a hot day

Could the MAF sensor be a reason? I cleaned it off as well as the throttle body. There is no way it’s the fan because this doesn’t sound normal I’ve never heard anything like this come from my truck

No, you've got an air leak someplace in the intake system. Air is rushing in under acceleration and causing the noise.
What about the connection between the Throttle Body and the intake hose?

I tightened all the hose clamps down. Air box is clamped all the way down. I’m just not sure I’m worried but I know it’s nothing serious

How about get an oem style paper filter off Amazon for $10-$15 dollars at most. Just to see if it is the filter. I don’t care for the oiled K&N filters anyhow.

If my fan clutch is stuck “on” what should I do. I’m pretty sure this is the issue. Do I need a new one?

Yea new one is the typical fix. Technically they can be rebuilt. But no one does that these days

You can try spraying brake cleaner around the area you were working on and if there is a leak present it will get sucked in and cause the engine to sputter slightly.

How did you verify this? If the fan clutch has gone Tango Uniform, when you grab the fan to spin it, it should spin fairly freely. If it feels tight, or you can't move it at all, the clutch is shot.

They're not horrible to change, but it is easier with the radiator out of the way. The clutch is sold separate from the fan, So you'll have to swap the fan over to the new clutch. Pretty sure it's all 10mm bolts you'll be dealing with.
