    Hey team.

My truck has been stumbling during idling randomly last few months. Couple times it’s died during idling- restart without issue or throwing any codes.

This seems awfully similar to when our Sienna’s fuel pump quit.

First off, does the 5.7 have a serviceable fuel filter?

Anyone else have this issue and figure the fix?

    Thanks in advance.

From just reading the thread title my first thought was "fuel delivery." I'm embarrassed to say I don't know where the fuel filter is but I'd guess it's above the tank.

Thanks for this info. But damn I guess the pump is the issue. I’ve tried pretty concentrated fuel system cleaner to see if it helped. Not so much.

Fuel delivery I’m sure as well. Seems like fuel filters are rare on newer vehicles. Don’t be embarrassed haha

Could be a loose connection. Have you unplugged it and checked everything? Maybe spray a little connector cleaner in there?

Good call. I’ll double check wiring first. :hattip:

Since it’s intermittent I’m hoping it’s just a touchy connection :fingerscrossed:

URD makes fuel pump kits if you get a new pump, they're a lot cheaper than stock according to a dude I was talking to the other day. It's pretty easy to swap the pump if you end up doing that. I can't say I remember seeing a filter near the tank, and definitely don't remember one inside the tank besides the little fuel sock, though it was awhile ago I upgraded my pump.

Did it when I did the blower, so can't say. Don't see why the pump alone would add anything unless you were running lean. I got the aeromotive 340 and no issues at all, food for thought.

@Roman can you shed any light on the fuel filter and pump questions here?

I hope Holden is right and it's just a wonky electrical connection, but the symptoms definitely sound like fuel delivery issues.

Could be any number of issues. I can't speculate.

As far as the filter, it is in the canister in the tank with the fuel pump. The filter itself is not serviceable. You'll have to replace the canister.

Doesn’t hurt to run some seaform. Had similar idling issues with 2uzfe, ran a couple cans through and so far so good.
