Think I've narrowed it down to either of these two. I did look at a few cheaper options on Amazon, but not sure about those as far as quality and customer service. I'm also impressed with tonneaucovered.com.

    Advantages
    Truxedo Pro X15
    • Lifetime warranty (vs Access Vanish 3 yr)
    • I prefer the look of the fabric they use
    Access Vanish
    • $130 less expensive
    • Maybe a little more water resistant due to the vinyl material
Gator ETX ($189.00 + $15.59 tax on Amazon)
    • $120 less than Access Vanish, $250 less than Truxedo Pro X15
    • Similar material to the Access Vanish

If you own or shopped for either of these, I'm curious what you've experienced.

I just responded in that thread before seeing this one. His bed has been damaged and repaired - that may be the problem. His cover also doesn't seem to be mounted with the hardware that's currently shipping with the covers. I wouldn't draw any conclusions from what may very well be an isolated incident. My pro X15 fits perfectly and was easy to install.

As for Access vs Truxedo, I had an Access original rollup on my first gen. I think I put it on around 2004. It held up extremely well, and was still on my truck when I sold it this past spring. The velcro was shot, but that was a minor problem on a 16 year old cover.

Despite that, I went for the Pro X15 on my new truck. I'm thrilled with it. in my opinion its a lot better looking than the Access cover, and so far it fits even better and is completely waterproof even in torrential rains. I'm eager to see how it holds up to snow.

I don't think you can go wrong with either cover - just personal preference really.

Ended up researching the Gator and Tyger models on Amazon and decided to go with the Gator ETX that seems to recently been marked down to $189. Figured it was worth a try at that price.
