Had a trip planned to go out to Colorado and ride with a few guys that I was in Desert Storm with. Towing a 7'x14" V-nose with my Ultra Classic and all gear in.
Left Black Mountain, NC on August 9th and headed to Nashville to meet up with one of the guys from Maine. Stayed there Sunday night and headed toward Colorado on the 10th. Two days and following a Dodge pulling an 18' toy hauler(slow poke), we finally reach Colorado Springs where the wife and I spent that week with her cousin and his wife. We enjoyed several breweries each day and so much good food.
On the 15th, we loaded back up and headed to Henderson, a community north of Denver, to meet back up with the guy from Maine and the host at his house.
On Monday morning, we loaded the bikes with our clothes and took off for the week. Landed in Silver Creek that evening and stayed there. Tuesday we headed toward Durango. absolutely beautiful scenery both days. Wednesday, due to the fires, we threw an audible and decided to head to SanteFe for the night. Thursday morning we had the 400 mile trip back up to Henderson.
And finally Friday morning, the wife and I load the trailer and start heading back home. made it as far as Kansas City, Mo and stopped for the night. Saturday we made it the rest of the way home and was there by 6:30est.
All total, we pulled the trailer 3,030 miles and did a little over 1500 on the bike.
The Tundra pulled quite well and ended up averaging 10.2mpg the entire trip keeping the speed around 75-78 the entire way.
