Hey everyone, I recently purchased a 2004 Tundra DC in pretty good condition, but the seats, and driver's seat, in particular, is a shambles. I've got a quote from a local auto leather guy for $690 for just the driver's seat. I've been seeing a company on Ebay called US Auto Seat Cover that sells the foam and leather covers for pretty reasonable prices.

Anyone have any experience with these guys or have any suggestions?

Welcome to the club Astra. That same seller is in my saved list. I was planning on purchasing the leather seat bottoms later this month. They seem to be a quality outfit. There are a few videos on YT that I'll be referencing as well.

After going through this with my previous truck, I'll tell you, if you do go with US Auto Seat, expect fitment issues and IIRC they're one of the two shops who don't use real leather. The severity of fitment problems for their covers apparently depends on the model.

The only seat company who actually builds to OEM spec is The Seat Shop, sadly their oldest Tundra cover is Gen2 / '07. That's got me irked, my driver seat bolsters are ripped.

If your seats are leather, $690/ea is about right for a quality shop to redo a captain's chair. It's really tempting to save the buck, if you don't need it to have flawless stitching, flawless fit, and you have the tools, go for it.

Thanks for the endorsement. I found that there is very little available now for these first gens. I guess they're getting few and far between now.

Same. I was sad to see The Seat Shop had nothing. They even had covers for the '98 GMC I had before. I guess maybe there's more of those on the road.

I am in the process myself of doing this. I found a guy through eBay (Wolfman's Upholstery) and bought his covers for my 3rd gen 4runner. Synthetic leather, perfect color match, and reasonable pricing. I reached out to him when I got my tundra and he is using my seat covers to get the tundra seats in production.
