Bugs in bedded in my radiator, what to do

    Hello everyone,
    I’ve put about 2400 miles on my brand new 2020 tundra and I am literally amazed at how many bugs are being inbedded into my radiator core, really don’t like it, thinking of putting some kind of screening in front of the radiator, anybody have any suggestions? Wondering if it will impede air flow to the radiator, Thank you in advance

    Had a Jeep JK before getting back into a Tundra. Saw a few people putting screen window covering over their radiators. They reported no issues. Thought about it but decided it wasn’t that big of deal.

    That screen works great but needs to get changed out frequently during heavy bug season.

    Buy some a/c coil cleaner, spray it on and rinse it off with a very gentle spray of water after 15-20 minutes.

    I was planning on using some black screening and wire tying it in, I’ve done that before, it’s just crazy how many bugs are just literally pounding themselves right in there and the radiator does not look like a old school quality radiator that you would see 20 or 30 years ago, if a rock flew up in there...holy sheist

    A good cleaning with some products meant for that. The above tools may help you get some of the bugs out. Be careful not to damage the fins with high water pressure or tools not meant to be touching them. Sounds like you should add the screen after if its to the point you’ll be cleaning it once a season as it will save you trouble and damage to the radiator.
