It's hard to say and really doesn't matter. You will need to run the tap thru the whole length of the nut's threads.

Another important key is to keep the tap perpendicular (right angle) to the the nut.

You'll be fine dude, cutting a new thread is easy. a tap "screws" down into a nut, and when it gets to bad spots in threads it re-cuts them back to how they should be. It is normal if the tap starts to get hard to turn, this means it is cutting new threads and doing its job. I was taught to turn the tap in a few turns (like when it starts getting tight) then turn it out a turn or two, and repeat. Doing this will keep from getting the tap bound up with metal shavings. DO NOT USE A DRILL OF ANY SORT!! TURN THE TAP IN WITH A HAND WRENCH ONLY!!! taps break very easy when they are forced to turn under a bind. Also get ya some kind of lubrication oil WD-40 will work fine and spray the tap good before starting.

When I had the rear seat out of my CM I found that I had 2 different sized bolts all of them were the tapered fine thread bolt like pictured, besides 1 of them. it was the same length but a little bit bigger diameter bolt that was coarse thread with the taper at the bottom. (Probably a quality repair at the mfg line due to a cross-threading issue)

    Final post...
I pulled the pass rear seat out yesterday and fixed the 2 bolt holes I screwed up.
Bolts will be here Monday (thanks @Roman ), so I can just put them in.

I bought the $17 metric HF tap and die set.
Actually kind of fixed one the bolts just to practice with it.
But I have 8 bolts coming so I'll replace them all with the new ones.

Tapping was as easy as y'all told me it would be.
Turned it till it got a little tight, backed it out, turned it back in until I got all the way through.
Only issue I had was keeping the bit in the handle..

I'm pretty sure I had my little 20V impact driver set too fast to put them in.
I now start them by hand.

Thank you for your help guys..
I was really scared I screwed this up big time.

Yup! I've taken my back seats enough to know. The top of the bolts are slightly different for the two different sizes.

@1lowlife , was the boot set you linked to correct (72702-0c010), and was it the coarse thread or fine thread? I managed to do similar stripping on the coarse thread bolt on my truck.

Anyone know why the one rear seat bolt is different? So silly!

You just need to chase the bolt thread and the body nut thread.
You can get this kit on Amazon.

Good info for me in this thread. I may be in a similar situation soon with replacing my fuel tank straps.

Toyota had new bolts mine was 12 bucks but if your bolt is stripped I'd get a tap because I just bought a bolt and I needed a tap as well
