Dang Kris. I know the last time I ran into you you mentioned about planning something and unfortunately I can't make this one. I have things booked every weekend in March. Enjoy !!!!!!!!!

I'm in. Set a date. My schedule is already out for March so I'll probably have to use some PTO but that's what's it's there for right?

Well, now I gotta back off this weekend. Looks like I am hosting a BBQ at my house for friend that's coming to town. Sat is out. Sunday is most likely out since I'll be recovering from Sat night.

    What about March 11-12th?

So I'm free this Saturday to do a run. I'll let you guys decide. Some ideas..

Cougar Buttes (rock crawling area with various difficulties, not really a designated trail, short distance)
Cleghorn (moderate pace trail, more obstacles, shorter run distance overall); if we start this early and finish early, we could drive an hour over to Cougar Buttes.
Anza (good weather, more distance, higher speeds, more attractions along the way)

I'll be coming from San Diego if anyone wants to caravan.

I've cross-posted this run on TW also so some Tacomas might come.

TDS is this weekend but some of us want to hit Anza in general.

Let's meet in Julian (from there it's about 30 until we're in Anza territory) at the library. There's a gas station next to it but it's probably smarter to fill up earlier when you're off the 15 (might be cheaper) and then just top off at the gas station nearby the library.
    __________

    Day: Saturday (March 3rd)
Meet: Julian library (1850 CA-78, Julian, CA 92036)
    Time: 8a
    VHF/UHF channel: 149.777
    __________

    Attending..
    - Spvrtan (TW; 2nd-gen Tundra)
    - jeprox] (TW; 3rd-gen Tacoma)
    - FreshMexicanTaco (TW; Tacoma)
    - anwar_janabi (T4R; 4Runner)
    - cj_dirt_bike (T4R; 4Runner)

    Maybe attending..
    - synergy10 (TW; Tacoma)

Message me if you want to come.
    __________

We'll be hitting trails in Anza in both the North and South areas but starting up top.

We'll start with either one but it would be awesome to do Lower Coyote Canyon (Northwest corner of Anza) and/or Calcite Mine (Northeast corner near Truckhaven & TDS event).

If we finish either or both early, we could explore more of Ocotillo or take some pictures around the statues of Borrego Springs.

Around the middle of the run, we'll head South of the 78 toward Split Mountain, enter on Fish Creek wash, take a break near the wind caves, continue down the wash and do Sandstone Canyon (it's an out and back wash with a few obstacles to go over).

Before the next part, we could optionally do Broken Shaft Gulch if the other rigs are feeling lucky.

To end the day, we'll go up Diablo drop-off, Northwest on Arroyo Seco Del Diablo, Southeast on Arroyo Tapiado (mud caves if people want to break for a few minutes), Southeast on Vallecito Creek, and then South on Canyon Sin Nombre.

We'll be ending the day near the 8 and exit that way to the West. There's a gas station at the end but it's usually very pricey. If you have enough gas to dive down the 8 ~30 miles, gas is cheaper once we're in the city.

    Last minute run!!!

I'm headed out NOW. To TDS. Only staying tonight and leaving back for home around noon Saturday. Staying with my Scouts West crew. Not Boy Scouts.

Our camp is down North Marina Drive. Right at the Info Sign. Stay on that wash, south west. If that helps.

I'll have my 2nd Gen with me.

Well. You saw it first. My first hard hit in the Tundra. At 4:30 am in a tight canyon.

    Rubbins racin Ricky Bobby!

(Apparently I can't upload the image from the desert at this time.) image to follow. It's not bad. Well. To maybe the few of us.
