    Bought a 2003 SR5 4x4 to replace my 2000 V6 base model.

Was going to try and make it look about the same with my few mods.

Son is telling me the Bed rails are out of style and don't look good.

Figured I would ask here and see what others think.

Pic is of my old one.P1030524.jpg P1030525.jpg

I think it really depends on what you like. I personally don't pay much attention to what is currently fashionable. Truck is not like a dress. If you like the look, go for it. I like the functionality of bed rails.

They're not just dated... they are hideous. Unless you absolutely need them for some reason, they've got to go. It's going to look so clean without them.

Edit- your truck isn't that high, dump the steps too.

No bueno... way out dated. I don't think the 90s have caught up with us yet as the 80s have.

yeah, I'm not a fan, but like @chphilo and @Law323 stated...it's your truck, if you like them or they're functional for you, go for it

I would say keep them if you also had moon caps, fuzzy dice, curb feelers and grounding straps. If not I would take them off.

Personally, I would've taken them off the minute I got the truck home, along with the steps. But that's just me. If they work for you, then that's all that matters. My kid always thinks I do un-cool stuff. She doesn't even know how awesome I used to be. Lmao! To be honest I don't think my kid is that cool. She bought crocs the other day. I didn't think those would ever be in style. So as the saying goes beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

No the pic is of my old one. 2000 base model V6 that I am selling. I put those on about 13 years ago with a retrax cover and few other things. And I did use them some.
Was thinking of adding them to this other 2003 V8 4x4 I just got. But I dont really need them anymore and looks like I confirmed what my son was thinking and they dont add to the looks.
Guess I am getting to old. Hey but saves me a little. Those Putco bedrails are like 400.00 now.

If you don't need them, definitely don't get them for looks.

Think about all the mods you can now get with that $400 you allocated to the bed rails...
