HELP!!! I'm from NorCal and looking to install a dual-hoop shock set up (ICON’s S2 Secondary Shock System with 3.0 triple bypass King shocks) on my 6" lift Tundra with Kings 2.5 coilovers with adjusters. The shop that installed the lift and Kings are spotty, and I'm afraid of going back to this shop to continue to work on my tundra project. Does anyone know a very dependable and reliable shop that can fulfill my request in Northern California? I'm also willing to drive to So Cal for the job, just like what I did just yesterday getting a BMC (Body Mount Chop) to fit 37s.

Where are you at? I had Patriot Off-Road in Roseville install my rims and had a couple of quotes done about the lift I want to do. They were very knowledgeable and friendly.

    Hi BamaMan,

Patriot is on my shortlist and might use them for my custom install, but I read the reviews and a couple of comments haven't been so great just a few months ago. Before that, it has been all positive.

I'll give them a call for sure!

    Thanks.

Copy that. Not sure about that, but they had great reviews when I checked them out. Plus it's a small business and I wanted to support them. They're also big on supporting military, first responders, etc. So, I wanted to support them too, lol. No complaints for me.

I have personal experience with Patriot Off-Road and from what I can tell they have minimal knowledge of Tundras. If they don’t have a prepackaged kit from a vendor telling them what to do or how to do, they really don’t know what their doing on the Tundra. About a year ago over thanksgiving weekend I went to 88Rotors Offroad in Los Angeles to install Kings Shocks, Camburg UPCs and some Methods with 35s. They also gave me a clean BMC. Unfortunately the alignment shop that 88Rotors partnered with was closed for the holiday so I had to wait to get an alignment when I returned to Roseville. So I took it to Patriot-Offroad in Roseville for an alignment. Before going to them I spoke to both 88Rotors and Camburg for instructions on the alignment, and I tried giving Patriot the instructions and they wouldn’t take them and said “we know what we are doing”. And of course, their alignment made me rub the body mount like crazy. And said they needed to do the body mount themselves because the previous shop did a bad job. I asked if they maxed out the positive caster to push the tire forward to clear the body mount during their alignment and they insisted that they did. Finally, I Called back 88Rotors for info, and they urged me to go to a different shop for an alignment. I went ahead and found another alignment shop, Which fixed the rubbing proved their alignment was at fault, they did not increase the positive caster. They either don’t know how to adjust caster, or just plain lied to my face about doing so. I will never go back to them. If you want quality work done, I say go to SoCal and visit 88Rotors Offroad. Check out their Youtube Channel. They post daily videos of their work on Tundras.

Ive noticed a few shops up here in Nor Cal are shaddy at best.. I tried getting parts from local shops and recommendations for shops to get worked done on my car, and I might as well had asked for crack cuz all of a sudden I must have kicked their dog on the way through the door, or knocked up their sister and refused the paternity test, because they tightened up and wouldn't say anything else, started looking around... I'm from So Cal and you could walk down the street and bump in to 10 people who know someone or atleast a shop that can handle any type work you throw at them, even shops that would admit they're over their head and recommend other shops..... just my personal experience...

559 Motorsports was great but I was their last Build, they went out of business. I just had a 3" OME lift kit installed on my sons 80 series land cruiser at Northside 4 x 4 in Clovis and they did a great job, i bought the parts and they installed the whole kit for 350 out the door.

Just a block or so down from Patriot, is M.A.S. (my auto surgeon). They did the alignment on my truck after I had my 17's installed. They did a good job. I know it was out of whack when I took it in to them.

Stellar built can definitely handle it. It'd be wise to talk with @dcsleeper408. Milogen fab in Milpitas can do it too. Mark, AKA dcsleeper, moonlights at Milo's.

I was thinking of calling Stellar to do my BMC. Remember how much it was to have it done? There goes the warranty..... LOL

Sorry I don't know, I was having other things done at the same time. Warranty on the frame maybe, but everything else will be fine, look up Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.

I can't remember exactly either, but there was a cheaper cash price. I want to say mine was around $200.

Yup, but I don't have much choice, I can't weld worth a damn and wouldn't want to try on my truck. I know they do good work though so I'm not crying over it.

My new suspension is going on in the next month. I am planning on taking it to Stellar for alignment. Hoping they are better with custom numbers than Les Schwab.

I heard MAS (My Auto Surgeon) in Rocklin/Roseville is also a good alternative for custom alignments as well after doing some research, but we all know Stellar is good to go. :)
