    Tastefully enhanced...
Certainly a cleaner look, but at that point, if you don't have two dedicated winches on either end, may as well get one of the portable setups to swap from front to rear...though, this does look better...

I always thought that a rear winch makes more sense.

Less weight on the front end.
You usually go into a situation that you need to back out of.
When winching someone from below, hill or ditch, I'd rather have all of that load on the rear axle than the spindle bearings.
Winching a vehicle up on a trailer.
The downside would be running battery cable all the way to the back.

My dad made a bracket for a power winch you would use on a boat that would slip over the ball hitch of the truck. Plug it in to the receptacle in the bumper. Remember him having to use it a time or two growing up with the old dodge in the sticky red clay mud of central Virginia. Worked good. He kept it in the bed of the truck if he was out in the country

This^^^^ No downside to run the cables to the rear. Hi amp rated cables and connections to the rear............. maybe an additional $125. I just bought a rear hitch winch cradle. Still deciding on the winch. Prolly go with another Smittybilt X20 wireless remote.

It would be a clean setup if you mount the spare in the bed and then mount the winch between the frame rails where the spare was mounted. You would even have room to mount a second battery to keep the load off of your main battery and alternator. Fabricating a mount for this location would be fairly simple as well.

The boat winches I've seen are pretty small but you can buy winch mounting plates with a chain on them. Or put a chain on a trailer hitch-type winch cradle. Then just chain it to a tow point on the vehicle.

I have a winch on a hitch cradle that I just use a good set of jumper cables to power it when I need it.

The link in the OP is dead, so I don't know how they mount the winch. There isn't room for a rear winch though unless you remove the spare tire or have a huge bumper.
