How many different variations of Tundra and Tacoma frames do we use here at the TMMTX plant to build trucks?

Closest answer gets a gold star!

    So the closest was.....

    Bob.

And he was only 29 off!

That's right. We currently have 37 different frame variations that we are building depending on truck model, I-4 / V-6 / V-8s, 4x4, long bed / mid bed, etc.

Look along the drivers side of the frame and you'll see 1 or 2 white stickers either with or without a bar code. It have either a single or double character designator such as O or 80. This is the frame type. TRD PRO CrewMax uses a B4 frame for example.

Wow! Sounds like a lot. Would have thought Toyota would have several frame that could fit different models in order to have better production efficiency and reduce costs. You know, the whole economies of scale thing.

I love this kind of gee-wiz information. Guess all CM 4X4 use the same frame? My Limited CM 4X4 frame is also B4.

Man, with so many different frame variations what would one more hurt to give some of these guys with the Crew Max a long bed? Or at least a 6.5 bed?

I was a little disappointed with the 5.5 ft bed, but am quickly seeing how impractical a 6.5 < bed would be on the crewmax. I barely fit in many parking spots.
